This is part 3 of my journey to become a decent ukulele player
Last week was I struggling with keeping a strumming pattern while changing chords. I’m happy to report my chord switches are getting so much better. The G chord is still a pain but It’s becoming a muscle memory now
I started to record my progress so I could my show friends and family what I’ve been working on. I haven’t tried to preform live yet.
The songs I’ve been working on are “Riptide” by Vance Joy, “Let it be” by the Beatles, and “Animal Crackers” by Boywithuke. I’ve also started to add lyrics while keeping a strumming patte ..read more

My first complete song that I don't hate since I released my last album in 2019. I wrote this right after I saw Lost Dog Street Band perform in Morgantown and was channeling a bit of Benjamin Tod one of my favorite songwriters when I wrote it.

I really wanna learn to play ukulele. Maybe my posture is wrong but whenever I do a cord like the g cord my fingers touch the string and a terrible noise comes out. My fingers do not fit in-between the strings at all. Am I doing something wrong?

Thought y’all would enjoy this fabulously weird ukulele built by Will Grove-White (of Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain fame). The neck is at angle and it looks super weird but is oddly very comfortable to play.

G.A.S. in many forms . . . tenor, concert, and soprano. 1st and 2nd Mitchell Concert and Cordoba Concert. 3rd Kala Travel Tenor. Today, what appears to be an older Anuenue Soprano - Oahu Koa I.
The Cordoba is solid mahogany and the Anuenue is solid koa. Each sounds different, plays differently, and has its own personality. All sound pretty good, too!
