Well, I’ve asked to have this post deleted since I cannot edit it further, but guess the powers that be aren’t listening to my request. Also, appears people here may not be at the level requiring a dedicated amp. Didn’t know this when I stopped by following a search. I’ve owned maybe a dozen SJ amps. Sold all but what I have now. Zero complaints. All of these amps have been used in my living room. All function as advertised. Even sound great with guitar following preamp tube and bias changes. My SJ2 is 1997 vintage. Still fires up and sounds great every time. I realize you were stating ..read more

I’m pretty sure this is the museum you are talking about. This was just I played a few songs with the resident guitar man Patt, in the lobby, 2019. My wife and I were on a cross country road trip and when I realized where we were I couldn’t just “pass through.” I dont see the picture here but hopefully you can see it if you click on the coding ..read more

Ok, on reflection I realise that very few peop[e are going to spend the money on customised harps that I referred to above, so here is a more practical solution for anyone who is a bit handy. Buy two off-the-shelf Orchestra-S LC solo tuned harmonicas. Take one apart and use a dremel tool to grind a bit off the three F reeds to turn them into F sharp, converting it into the key of G. You will then be able to play nearly any song that does not have accidentals, plus quite a few that do have accidentals by swapping between the C and G harps mid-song ..read more

I know this is an old thread, but I deliberately searched for a related topic rather than create a new one. I have to admit that I still learn by tabs, but I suffer from a bit of dyslexia although I have never been diagnosed as such. When I was a young boy at school, dyslexia wasn’t a thing; they didn’t diagnose you, they just hit you. Harmonica tabs, particularly lines of tabs merge with each other, not significantly but enough that I struggle a bit when I try to read them. However, as time goes by, and I keep practicing I have found that I usually play the correct note regardless. I see the ..read more

Hi @attitudewiththought and @davidkachalon. I have said previously that I’m amazed at how many of us on this forum are broken or wounded in some way, physically or emotionally. There seems to be something about the harmonica that provides a salve for us. I’m glad it’s done that for you also ..read more

I was badly injured in a snowmobile accident when I was young, I always wanted to play an instrument but had difficulties because of my bad arm. It’s partially paralyzed and fused at the shoulder, so discovering the harmonica was a huge blessing for me and changed my life profoundly. The friends and colleagues I have met are priceless. Made me a more patient and a servant person too. So happy it is a light for you and so many of us ..read more

Harmonica Changed My Life Forever Lounge [IMG_9229] I’ve had an incredible passion for music ever since I was 2 years old when I heard Hit the Road Jack , by Ray Charles, blasting out of my dad’s record player. I still remember watching the record spinning around, feeling total ecstasy, “WOW! This is IT !” My requests for a drum set were never answered, but finally when I asked for a guitar, my parents sprung for one and I was hooked. I played guitar in many bands in high school, and then my friend taught me to play ha… This topic will be of interest to you ..read more
