Hello all, Any good amp stands out there to accommodate 4x10 Sonny Jr/bassman combos? Seems like the overall size and open back factors make it tricky.    Thanks ..read more

Sonic Pipe Windy City still tops?

After looking through the Equipment page/Amp Reviews, the Sonic Pipe Windy City was rated the best small amp. However, I believe this review was done in 2013(?). So, in 2023, is the Sonic Pipe Windy City still the top rated, under $500 small amp out there? I'm hoping to buy soon, and would love to have a small amp with great tone right out of the box. Thanks, Marty ..read more

Hello to all, i am loking at amps for street/home and rather that go valve was wondering if a PA with various pedals can sound good.So my interest is if the DUAL CUBE BASS LX would get that crunch being made for bass guitar. If not what would be a good choice, i only looked at speaker size bigger being better i thought...volume isnt my main concern. There are so many options but all are for guitar first and foremost.   continue reading ..read more

I want to start playing a chromatic. Based on David's advice on the website, I ordered a Hohner Chromonica 270 Deluxe C. However, my order was canceled: apparently they ran out of stock and will not be getting new ones, because they are now stocking the new model Hohner Xpression 48 C. Does anyone have experience with it? Is it an improvement compared to the Hohner Chromonica 270 Deluxe, or should I try to find one of the older models with different shops? Thanks in advance ..read more

Starting Amp Set-up

Hello All I'd like to start dipping my toes into amplified playing; I'm leaning towards a Bulletini mic with VC, and would like to build my set-up around that. A smaller amp is preferable--the purpose would be primarily to play/learn in my practice room, with a secondary goal of using it to jam with others. I'm a long way from playing on a stage, so that's not really a consideration at this point. I use garage band on a MacBook for recording lessons here if that's relevant. continue reading ..read more

Suzuki Harmonicas in Europe

I'm going to be heading to Portugal for a while and I'm wanting to find out about buying Suzuki Manji harmonicas and reed plates there. I'm currently in Japan and I can get a Manji for about ¥4000 (about US$30 / €26) and a reed plate for about half that. I mostly buy from Amazon as the selection of diatonics in most music stores is limited or non-existent (more chromatic and tremelo harmonica playing here). What are the prices in Europe like and where are the best places to buy them? Maybe I should stock up on some reed plates before I go?   Thanks ..read more
