Lahore Restaurant (@lahore.restaurant) serves up pretty delicious Pakistani cuisine. They are located in Secaucus, New Jersey. Here’s our review! Pani puri Food: 8/10 Generally, the food was decent! We had gol gappay served on a charpai that tasted standard. For drinks we had strawberry, mint, and mango virgin mojitos (they don’t sell/serve alcohol here) and they were prob one of the best mojitos we’ve ever had - it was very well made. We then had samosa chaat which was on par. The chicken biryani however fell short for us - it could have been a little more flavorful. We then had malai ..read more

We can’t remember the last time we went to an Afghan restaurant and this restaurant made our trip to the island well worth it. Kandahar Grill (@kandahargrill) is a local Afghan restaurant located in Hicksville, LI and is also a crowd favorite! Beef Kebab and Chicken Tikka Platter Food 8.5/10 For starters we got their mantu, bolani, and banjan. All the apps were delicious and full of flavor. The manto had the perfect ratio of yogurt sauce, lentils, and filling. The bolani was warm and flaky and the banjan was a cold eggplant appetizer that complimented the warm bread. For the main dishe ..read more

Your search for Sudanese food (read: authentic) leads you to Lazeez (@lazeezbrooklyn) in Flatlands, Brooklyn - the ONLY Sudanese restaurant in NYC. The food is amazing and of course, they only use/supply halal meats. Roast chicken Food: 9/10 Everything was just phenomenal and well made. We tried the mahshi which is stuffed squash with rice and ground beef - it was so flavorful and the squash is cooked until tender. Their fatiyer (cheese/veggie filled pastry) was soft and had just the right amount of filling. The lentil soup was BOMB - literally the best lentil soup we’ve ever had! It w ..read more

Addy’s BBQ (@theaddysbbq) in Edison, NJ is a staple halal restaurant serving up a mix of American and BBQ classics like ribs, burgers, and wings, as well as some Mexican favorites! They even have Kashmiri tea on the menu. Here’s our review for this location, as they have several locations scattered throughout the east coast. Burnt Ends Food: 8.5/10 The food here was hearty and good. For starters, we ordered the chicken quesadillas and masala fries. The chicken quesadillas were some of the best we’ve had, and they’re accompanied with a delicious spicy red salsa and sour cream. As for th ..read more

David’s Brisket House is a Muslim-owned deli serving up the city’s only halal corned beef, pastrami, and brisket all under one roof! They also have a breakfast menu and regular halal cold cut meats. Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwich Food: 8/10 The corned beef and pastrami sandwich was fire and just all you can expect - a good salty, savory, mustardy bite. We opted for rye bread which as you can see barely does any justice to the ratio of meat ? They have other breads you can opt for which I’m forgetting. Please also get it with mayo on top of the mustard. The brisket sandwich was on th ..read more

Syko is the new partially halal Syrian-Korean restaurant the recently opened in Brooklyn’s Windsor Terrace. The concept was created when individuals from two cultures joined as one and wanted to share their love for food with the world. The restaurant has a Syrian menu and a Korean menu so you get to immerse you tastebuds with a little something from each culture. Chicken Kimbap Food: 7.5/10 From the Korean menu we got the bulgogi bowl, bibimbap, chicken kimbap, chicken poppers, chicken fatboy sandwich, and the hotteok. Everything tasted really good and made fresh on order. The bulgogi ..read more

Fatta Mano is the city’s newest halal Italian restaurant. They serve Italian dishes free of pork and alcohol and other non-halal ingredients. All the meat is used is halal. Bolognese Food: 7/10 One by one: We started off with the Burrata that is served along with grilled pears, pesto, and candied walnuts. We thought this was a unique and interesting item on the menu that we would like - and it was pretty delicious. We’re not sure if it’s homemade burrata but it was definitely flavorful and went well with all the flavors on the plate. Next, we ordered the wood fired wings and were prett ..read more
