Hi, I bought two accutronics spring tanks and their driver PCBs about a month ago from a seller claiming them to be from a Yamaha organ. I'm hoping I can turn them into a stereo spring reverb unit. I've heard lots of stories about various 2N3819's bought over the years having Idss measurements of 12-20mA, which make them difficult/impossible to bias up correctly in a U87 circuit. Technically, those are "in spec" since the data sheet specifies 2-20mA for Idss, but vintage 2N3819's were usually in the 2-4mA range. I had an old 4-in-1 electrolytic capacitor in a metal can to replace, and as it was more practical to keep the same kind of package to wire all the components of the device, I decided to open the can and put 4 newer capacitors inside, then sealed them in epoxy.
