The Men’s Residence is a 32-week inpatient faith-based drug and alcohol program. The program consists of 26 weeks of classes all day and 6 weeks of volunteer service work. But we are not all work here! One of biggest triggers for relapse is boredom. Being a recovering addict myself, I know boredom always led to relapse. The problem was I had no hobbies. All my life consisted of was getting high. All the things I ever did enjoy doing, I did while using drugs and alcohol. So, when I got sober, I was scared life was going to be so boring. When I started serving here at the Men’s Residence, I br ..read more

More Abundantly Than You Can Ask or Think

God showed his goodness to the Samaritan Inn over the last few months. We had a special need that we could not meet alone, so, we asked the community for help. We had a space that needed major repair, if it would ever be useful as more than a storage area. At the same time, we needed a larger area for a blended family who currently serves here at the Samaritan Inn. The outpouring of love for our ministry was evident in the gracious generosity of financial support from our community. The collection taken for our single-unit renovation was enough to cover the entire cost, but God's love did ..read more

Gail started a personal relationship with Jesus while in jail in 2020 after an arrest from what could have been a fatal car crash. Before coming to Leesburg, Gail’s life in Alaska was classified by her losses and trauma of domestic violence abuse, addictions, homelessness, and living a life of crime. Gail came to the Women’s Care Center on May 2, 2022, and she completed 10 months of the program. She has been living in the transition phase (where the ladies are able to work a job) since March 1, 2023. While in the program, Gail had to do a lot of work on forgiveness. It was heavy and deep, b ..read more

Reconciliation Business
Christian Care Center Blog

At the Men’s Center, God is definitely in the reconciliation business. He is busy reconciling himself to the men here through His Son Jesus Christ and He is busy reconciling families who have been torn apart due to drugs and alcohol. We get a front row seat to watch husbands reconciled to their wives’, fathers reconciled to their children, and children reconciled to their parents. Dillon came to us about 7 months ago after choosing to live on the streets from an early age. He allowed drugs to isolate him from his friends, family, and even himself. When Dillon came to us, he was broken and str ..read more

Through a Child’s Eyes

Jesus said, “Let the children come to Me. Don’t stop them. For the kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children” (Matthew 19:14). One of our Samaritan Inn children drew this precious picture when his Sunday School teacher asked his class to draw a picture of their home. Oh, through the eyes of child…seeing this little one’s beautiful drawing of his home reminds us that Samaritan Inn doesn’t just exist to be God’s means to Biblically transform the lives of single moms and dads, or married couples. Yet, we also exist to lead children to Jesus so that they can experience “ho ..read more

Our ladies have had the wonderful opportunity to engage with others, learn God’s Word, and apply it to their lives when attending the “Pressing On” Bible study (led by Mark Thompson on Sunday mornings at FBC Leesburg Downtown). Mark is a gifted teacher, and his wife Alicia certainly has the gift of hospitality. The Thompsons are longtime friends of the Women’s Care Center, and they truly make the ladies feel loved and welcomed. There is always a sweet time of fellowship while sharing praise reports and prayer requests prior to class. Mark always brings coffee and snacks. The entire class ha ..read more
