Roberts, a member of Girl Scout Troop 2307, developed a STEM-based curriculum targeting 4th-8th grade students that was offered during summer camp at the Lincoln County, NC Sally’s YMCA. Vernon, daughter of Chris and Maria Vernon and a member of Girl Scout Troop 2385, created a workshop for seniors citizens in her community to teach them about smartphones and how to better understand and use them. Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont is pleased to announce that Samantha Gambill, Taylorsville, has earned her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement a Girl Scout can earn. Gambill, daughter of Greg and Paula Gambill and a member of Girl Scout Troop 2872, renovated the basketball courts at Jenkins Elementary School so that the students would have a clean and safe space to be active and exercise during recess and PE. Cargill, daughter of Sam Cargill and Greta Browning and a member of Girl Scout Troop 2023, revamped the data management system for the Glen Alpine Food Pantry. Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont is pleased to announce that Macey Smith, Mocksville, has earned her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement a Girl Scout can earn. Smith, a member of Girl Scout Troop 2147, renovated and remodeled a preexisting courtyard at the Davie County Courthouse so that it could be used as a place for photos for special events and weddings that happen there.
