Baby Girl’s Nursery is Finally Ready!
A few weeks ago, I shared a post with all of my favorite nursery inspiration – most of it very light and feminine. You can also check out my nursery Pinterest board here (PS – I’d love if you’d give us a follow on Pinterest!) Since then, my husband and I (mostly my husband) have gone to work on getting this little girl’s room all ready for her arrival later this month ..read more

Like parents across America today, I am gutted. Emotionally and physically sick. Unable to fall asleep last night in the wake of the darkness and unable to quickly move forward today with the fear in my heart. I drive to work with a lump in my throat and tears down my cheeks. I know that leaving work early today to pick up my 5-year-old daughter Palmer isn’t a luxury ..read more

The Invisible Weight of Motherhood – aka the “Motherload”
Written by Ashley Klein
I almost lost my mind over a fingernail last week. To be fair, it was all the fingernails, not just one. It had been one of those days where it felt like no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t get ahead of the demands of my house or my children. We were finally rounding out the end of the night ..read more

I remember many nights – lying in bed in the middle of the night, unable to fall sleep. Horrifying, vivid, and intrusive thoughts about something terrible happening to the baby would flash in my brain. My body would tense. After a half hour or so, I’d open up my iPad and try to distract myself – either by reading a book, my news app, or to try and scroll mindlessly through Instagram ..read more

What New Moms Can Expect After Giving Birth
“WHY DIDN’T ANYONE TELL ME?”

It’s not that the postpartum experience is some big secret. I just think that this happens because when you’re not trying to conceive and/or not pregnant – you don’t want to know / don’t really care that much to be having conversations about what happens to your body after childbirth ..read more

Cutting Alcohol & Other Wellness Habits that Have LITERALLY Changed My Life
Written by Kaci Smith
If you’re new around here, you can read about my experience with postpartum anxiety and depression here. It came on strong after my first was born, and was something I dealt with on a daily basis for a solid 1-2 years. It finally disappeared when I became pregnant with Scottie, and seemed to be under control after giving birth to her as well ..read more

Positive Affirmations for Our Kids
Written by Bethany Harold
I was talking to a friend the other day and she was asking about my kids and how they were doing with their dad being gone again (he was gone for 5 weeks in August-October and again for the month of November). I told her how they are adjusting just fine and I mentioned how I just make sure to tell them extra affirmations when putting them to bed ..read more
