Easy 4x4 for More Adventure!

Hey folks! Just wanted to share some simple mods I’ve done to my 4x4 lately. Swapped to bigger off-road tires for better grip, added a roof rack for more gear, and threw on some front and rear bumpers for that rugged look. Also, installed a rooftop tent for comfy camping. These mods have really upped my off-road game and made my trips more enjoyable. Any other easy mods you’ve tried? Let’s chat! Cheers! 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more

Lets just start this off with, I know…I should have listened to all the reviews. Lesson learned. This is a multi-review of both the dealer and the camper itself (You’ll understand when you read it). Let this be a learning moment for those researching camper dealers, or campers in general. I’ll take you on a brief story about my “time” with Camping World and Forest River. So my family and I decided we wanted a camper. I work in public safety and my wife is a nurse manager so we wanted to go a step above our every now and then tent camping weekends with the kids. I was told by a friend that Fore ..read more

RV portable solar panel

We’re going to be looking at portable solar panels for a STT272VRK but first we’re reviewing our conventional tow and payload numbers. So on the solar panels, what’s the maximum number of solar panels that can go on the roof and how much weight should I figure on for each panel? When I look online at Go Power it looks like each panel is about 30 pounds. We’re also most likely going to put 2- 6 volt batteries so I know it’s an additional like 80 pounds net on the tongue for the extra battery. So what are your thoughts on how much weight solar adds to the travel trailer. [Our challenge in the 12 ..read more

Boot Treatment Workflow
The Dyrt Forums

I have several pairs of boots, and I want to do right by them. I cannot seem to find exactly which products would be be best to use and in what order. Nikwax makes leather waterproofing and they make a conditioner that waterproofs. Folks are recommending that boots be cleaned (pretty straight forward), but then it gets a bit confusing. Should a waterproofing be used and then a conditioner, or does the waterproofing conditioner do both? The Nikwax site doesn’t even address this. I have an email in to them, meanwhile I’d love to know what you folks do and why. The boots in question are Zams (Vio ..read more
