Trying to make shifter adjustment since getting a new riding boot. It looks like the only way to access the lower nut is to remove the peg assembly? Seems like overkill to me. The peg assembly has 2 major bolts sealed with loctite. Any suggestions? Maybe a tool I'm not thinking about ..read more

My 790 suffered the abs mtc failure as many others have. My bike was garaged on a trickle charger and one day when I went to start I got the abs mtc error message. Tested the battery and it was weak. I read all the threads and opted to change the battery. Replaced with a yuasa battery. Aside from the abs mtc message, the eml light is on and it appears to be stuck in rain mode. The bike is my trusted Duke 790, with ~10,000 miles. Just as a side note, a bike with 10K miles should not have thishapenning... Long story short, I dropped the bike on the track last season. A few months later I go the engine overheating. When I checked the coolant level in the radiator, it was non-existent. I also dropped the oil and saw there was collant mixed in.
