Hey guys,
I've been out of the field for at least 8 years, in IT since. I am thinking about doing a few different things that would require a camera. All my gear is gone aside from 3 Canon EF lenses, 5Dmk3 and a Zoom4 with a few mics.
If I get back into it I would be shooting construction vehicles, and some outside possibly on the ocean. There will also be the occasional interviews.
I was initially thinking EVA1 because I like the picture and I have the EF lenses. But then I thought about the dvx200 and how easy it was to throw on a set of sticks and shoot things like moving vehicles. I like ..read more

$1985 with an extra BP-A30.
Shipping today, ASAP. PM me with any questions.
For the money, it is hard to beat with the amount of features it has, including CRL, Canon color, ND filters and various I/O.
Maybe you could use it as a gimbal cam or an extra B/C/D cam on set/out in the field ..read more

Hi all! I’ve tried just about everything I can think up to this point and am looking for any advice or pointers.
Context - I shot a short film on two DVX100Bs in 24Pa mode. Both cameras ran the S-video out to a HDMI converter which ran to an Atomos Ninja 2. The files I’m left with are 1280x720 (original 4x3 stretched) Prores 422 in 60 fps. I have no footage on tape, only .mov files.
What I’d like to do is use 2:3:3:2 pulldown removal to convert these files to true 24fps (or 23.976) to streamline editing, minimize file sizes and simplify final VFX and color.
I’m editing in Premiere Pro and h ..read more

If this is the wrong place for this camera discussion, apologies, maybe someone could move it to the right area.
I joined DVXUser in the hope of finding other FX30 users but it seems a bit quiet. Anyway, I finally got round to upgrading my FS7 and instead of going down the FX6 route like many of my colleagues I decided on the FX30. I'm not going to lie the almost disposable pricing was a factor, at this level I can upgrade every year without noticing if Sony releases an improved model. However, it was the gimbal friendly form factor and the changing nature of client work that really pushed me ..read more

The time has come to sell my OLED Odyssey 7Q+. It is on it's way back from being tuned-up by Convergent Design, so it it should be just about good as new when it arrives. I'm including two 256GB SSDs and it has the RAW license installed. It's got a mount on the back for Sony BPU batteries, plus a D-TAP cable, and of course, the original AC adapter. Just add SDI or HDMI cables and you are in business. $1700 ..read more

Anybody else see these announced the other day? I emailed one of my dealers about pricing and availability, because they haven’t shown up on-line, yet. It probably won’t be promising, as so much Astera stuff has been on back-order for months, now.

The effect almost went unnoticed, I think it looks really good. Not for every shot but if Schwarzenegger is posing on top of a mountain, you're in trouble if it looks boring. I imagine cinema enthusiasts at the time were probably blown away.
I think it also works because the sky doesn't drastically change thanks to the cloud coverage so it goes from white(ish) to white rather than deep blue to blown out sky, which could've been more jarring. I'm sure it would've still looked good but assume this was a happy accident, although a shoot with Arnold would have been a semi ordeal back then so mayb ..read more
