Guys, I'm just catching up with latest plotting trends so can someone recommend a cheap server option to speed up my plotting? I'm looking for lots of ram and I will chuck a 3070 in it. Is there a server gpu that will plot better than a 3070 and may be in a used server? Are SAS ports any use to me? I don't know Linux at all so it needs to be windows based. Would it be faster to have twice as much DDR3 over half the qty in DDR4? Does high core count help plotting times?

As with any investment, it is important to do your research and due diligence.
In Nov 2017 it is certainly hard to mine most coins via GPU especially with a number of ASIC devices coming to market. Baikal has their X10 slated for shipping at end of month. Batch 1 of the D3's have shipped and batch 2 is shipping soon. Batch 3 not long after that.
At this moment BTC is $7240USD and is gaining a lot of interest.

Hi guys, I have just got my hands on a 12 card mining motherboard and am not sure about whether I need a single molex cable for each molex plug on the motherboard or if one cable with mutiple molex can be used to power the two-three outlets on the motherboard. Does anyone know? Many PSUs only come with one molex cable so just wanting to know if I need to change PSUs or the ones I have will do for now. Cheers ..read more

I'm unsure if this is the best place to start this thread so please move if not.
As we are all aware there has been a global shortage of GPU's for the past 2 years from the result of crypto mining. I've read many articles that mention that this has also resulted in many other electronic devices (phones / cars / etc) to suffer.
However I cannot find conclusive evidence that the same blob of silicon used for GPU's is also used for semiconductors for automobiles (cars being the...
