Last week my friend and I went to Big Lots and I noticed they had a Sonic the Hedgehog themed keyboard, headset, and mouse. I bought the last one, and I've been using the mouse and keyboard for the past week! Unfortunately the headset only plays audio in the left speaker, which is a shame since the microphone actually doesn't sound bad at all! I have a nice microphone however, so I don't really need to use the headset. The keyboard works great, and the keys feel great. It's a mechanical keyboard that has RGB so I can type in the dark. The mouse feels great and also has RGB. I think this set is ..read more

Gaming laptop brands?

If you buy or use gaming laptops, which brands do you prefer? for me, I like Alienware.  Asus is a close 2nd choice for me. I always had pretty good luck with most Alienware laptops I've owned in the past. The only issue i've had was with the Alienware M18 R1 that I tried 2 variants of, each had different issues: All-AMD variant - Games just didn't load and would crash constantly, no matter the game. I think this was more of a GPU driver issue so I returned it and tried Alienware M18 R1 w/ RTX 4070 graphics -  This one worked fine but it had 2 defective USB-C ports on the back.  ..read more

I was going to help build a friends PC, but I'm too paranoid I will cause damage, so I asking him to instead build one himself or buy a pre-built. I know most people will say to build your own PC, and I would recommend that too, but I don't want to end up breaking a PC in the process. So, he wants to go the pre-built route. What is the best site to go for pre-builts? Ones that will build the PCs for you, and it may cost a bit extra in doing so.  What sites would you suggest? Or what stores?  ..read more

I was planning on getting a Mini PC for personal use as I have both a portable monitor and a wireless keyboard mouse combo lying around. The more modern ones are as powerful as laptops and far more portable and are very compact. Personally, I think these devices could replace traditional home desktops in the near future. What are your thoughts on Mini-PCs ..read more

Has a game ever caused your GPU to die?

I don't know if it's possible for a game to brick or cause damage to a GPU, but is it possible? I mostly play games on my PC these days and I'm always paranoid about my PC getting damaged. I always put the settings for games at the lowest it can go, and that saves me some worry. But has a game ever destroyed your GPU? Maybe it was an older gaming PC and you played something newer to the point your GPU overheated maybe?  Do you have worries about your GPU going like that?  ..read more

What's the best Linux Distro for gaming?

I've only ever used a few distributions of Linux, which are just operating systems. I have used mostly Ubuntu and flavors of it like Xubuntu, Kubuntu and a few other Linux distros. But I haven't used any that are geared more towards gaming. I wouldn't mind dual booting my Windows 10 PC with a Linux distro that is made for gaming. Do you guys know any good ones more geared towards video games? I would say Ubuntu, but even that has some limitations from the last time I used it. Is there anything made specifically for gamers?  ..read more

Are you afraid to break your PC when you clean it?

I hate cleaning my PC, every time I do it I fear I'm going to somehow break something in the process. Last time I did it, I used an electronic duster/blower thing that helped clean it out pretty good, but I haven't cleaned it in a while and it's probably due for a good cleaning. Do you guys have any fears that your PC will break when you go in to clean it? I'm just paranoid if I disconnect something like my graphics card to clean it for example, that when I put it back in it'll end up dying on me.  Also, how often should you change the thermal paste on a PC?  ..read more

Does PC gaming reduce battery performance?

My PC is not a gaming system, and I’ve realized after 3 years of heavy usage that the battery health has reduced significantly. Also it is not a surprise that gaming drains battery faster than other activities. So I’ve noticed that gaming affects the battery health and longevity, since it is an intensive activity.    Or is it just me ..read more
