Seen a few different Instagram shorts on what to do if your travelling at high speeds and your brakes stop responding. What they suggest is: Manual hand brakes- don't just pull up on it. As there is a risk of causing the car to flip. One should pull up and down (repeatedlly) to slow the car down. Looks like BMW isn't just going to sit and watch other manufacturers update their cars mid-cycle. This does makes sense since the i5 is an M60 and has 593hp. I would guess i4 is getting the same drivetrain as the current i5 M60. After nearly 4 months I'm getting my Edrive 40 M Sport tomorrow via Lease delivered to my door.
