Looking for some insight, I just purchased my second M5. This time a 6MT with a potentially bad motor. Car is a 2008 with 129k miles. Previous owner claimed he thinks it dropped a valve. Story goes, he heard a ticking noise at a stop light and the car shut off. Restarted and drove it home around the corner and it shut off again then wouldn't restart.
