New owner, having just snagged a 2k mile i3s: buried in the iDrive menu is an option to limit the charging rate. When the dealer or you resets the car systems the charging rate will be limited, meaning it won't draw the full rated current from the supply, If you go in to the "My Vehicle" settings and have a poke around somewhere you'll find a "Charging current level" which have probably been set to "low" or "min". Whack them up to "high" or "max". Statistics: Posted by ilovemygold13s — Thu Dec 14, 2023 10:41 pm ..read more

That fault will be logged, the dealer is telling porky pies. I have ISTA software so on BMW fault tree it will usually be linked to EME. You can clear DTCs with ISTA, but if sensor still detects fault it will remain., Could be anything, but usually it’s a sensor regards HV insulation value not within specification, such as moisture in cable connection. My wife’s car is 65 plate REx. I swapped out 12V battery last year, worth doing if original battery. In ISTA instructions it recommends switching on and off terminal 15, which is basically ignition. I disconnected 12V battery with HV connectio ..read more

Great choice on considering the i3 REx! The typical kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumption for charging the i3 can vary based on a few factors. The i3 comes with different battery capacities, so the charging requirements will depend on whether you have the standard battery or the optional range extender (REx) version. For the all-electric i3, the kWh consumption per charge is influenced by the battery capacity, typically ranging from around 22 to 42 kWh, depending on the model year and any optional upgrades. If you're referring to the range extender (REx) version, it has a smaller battery and includ ..read more

Hello! Welcome to the forum! It's great that you're reaching out for help with your BMW i3 window controller issue. It's good that you've already replaced the controller, but it seems there might be an underlying problem. Besides fuses 35 and 69, you might want to check if there are any additional fuses related to the window control system. Consult your car's manual or the fuse box cover for a comprehensive list. Additionally, performing a reset might help. You can try disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes, which could reset the electronics. Ensure you have any necessary codes for ..read more

The idea of using the app to remotely activate the locks on the door to engage the 12volt is compelling….if I could confirm that would work in my 2018 Rex. If yours is a U.S. i3, its original 4-year subscription to BMW Connected Services has almost certainly expired. The cost to renew for 1 year is $120. That would enable Remote Services that would allow you to interact with your vehicle remotely over the Internet. I haven’t left the car sit for more than two days. We travel about 3 times a year, when the i3 will be sitting for 5-7 days. Is that long enough where I should be worried about ..read more

Add me to the list of rex owners without a fill plug (2017). Bumping this thread in case anyone with a rex has figured out how to get to that breather vent. I was wondering if maybe you could reach it from underneath, attach a tube and feed the tube up through a gap? Statistics: Posted by nilknarf — Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:22 am ..read more
