Shade top Martins remind me of blond Banner Gibsons. Yes, they exists. I had a blond 42 Banner for years; eh.

you’ve been playing the same strings for six months?!?
yeah. The Pre-Wars come with mediums. I normally play lights. So, in an effort to break in the new guitar with red spruce top, I left the mediums on for six months on both.
But these Pre-Wars are so powerful, I think I like the heavier strings more, so trying the med-lights.
Plus, I usually have a few guitars out at a time, so each one is not being played everyday.

Maybe the rep told you a fact but misled you nonetheless.
D-16s might be built these days w 000 depth, but for years and years they had full dreadnaught depth.
I would venture that the overwhelming majority of D-16s on the planet are full dreadnaught depth.
i’d even bet the majority of style 16 Martins ever made are full depth dreadnaughts.
The guitar in question however is a 000 and not a dreadnaught.
Lefty’s equation is correct. They aren’t the same regardless of style (not series).
I think he was reacting to your comment that it “looks like a D28,” which it does not since ..read more

Re, Lucas electrics- -why do Brits drink warm beer? Because Lucas makes the fridges.
Eric-this D-28V is built with GE specs, Other than the weight it feels exactly like the D-18GE. It lacks the full whomp of the mahogany though.

I never owned a Brit car...or a Japanese or German or Italian vehicle either. My only excursion into foreign cars was a VW Thing, made in Mexico. I got it to replace my 1949 Jeep.

I think it's reasonable that Martin would help the dealers with some type of cost credit. It's certainly unusual for them to introduce a new model for $4,999, then discontinue the model, then, a couple months later introduce it back at $3,999.

One of my favorite things to make is salad dressing - I don’t buy salad dressing any longer, I just make it from scratch, usually with my stick blender, and it takes just a few minutes, and so much better-tasting than that store-bought stuff.
