I designed and printed 3D parts for some vintage Estes scale models; parts I couldn't find elsewhere. I'm preparing to build the Estes Saturn V Skylab. Since this is a newer model, I'm seeing some available parts.

I made this to put the EasyMotor board and battery in to help protect it during ground testing and during storage. Also made a spot to locate an off/on switch.

I happened upon these videos today and thought the technique that the guy uses to support large unsupported spans is pretty clever. The first video shows the technique and the second one takes it a step further.

After much frustration with my Ender 3, I ordered a Bambu A-1 Mini after the price drop. I just ordered the printer without the AMS lite, so there won't be multi-color prints in my immediate future. Shipping was really fast and the setup was easy. Once booted up, it went through a self calibration and an OTA firmware update. I have not had time to explore it too much, but I did print a Benchy that was preloaded on the card with the sample of basic PLA filament.
I'm aware that preloaded...

Does anyone know how to create this? Any help will be appreciated ..read more

I am Exploring 3D printing., and there is a lot to know, and I know very little. I don't know where to begin.
Back in November & December, I met a flyer who constructed a non-cylindrical rocket, with 5 fins. Imagine 5 long isosceles triangles bound together on the top half and 5 shorter isosceles triangles on the bottom half, with 5 fins sticking out. The bottom is squared of and the rocket motor sticks out about .5" The center tube is the motor mount, and a channel for the launch lug lies...

Hi, I recently found this 3D printed Sentinel model, which I printed upscaled to a BT-55 size. I weighed the entire thing and it comes out to 4.7oz (133g). I'm wondering if I could go with a D-12 motor, or if I'd be better off with an E-12 motor? Any thoughts? I can share more info if needed ..read more

One issue for the aft CR is heating from the motor. I'm presuming this is due to base drag pulling hot gasses up, but am not certain. This may prevent the use of printed parts at the aft end of a rocket. More investigation is required.
After an AT J270W flight, the aft CR was blacked with soot and there was an irregular section melted. (It didn't go all the way through the 6mm thick ring, but it's certainly concerning.) This was printed in ABS, using the settings determined in my...

Creality is advertising the Ender 3 for $99. It seems like a good deal, but what else do you need to get started? I’m a newbie at 3D printing. Thank you.
