Nozzle wear PLA VS NYLON

I have to print some parts in nylon (Taulman 645) for an university project and im concerned about how a brass nozzle will handle it. I read that nylon or PLA filled with fibers are very abrasive to the nozzle but ¿Is nylon abrasive it self without the fibers? ¿How abrasive could be compared with PLA? ¿Is necesary also a steel nozzle? I compared Hardness Shore D and they are almost the same, but i dont know if this is a good measure of its abrasion to other materials. Hardness, Shore D... Nozzle wear PLA VS NYLON ..read more

Motion System & Toolchanger enclosure

Hi all, I've designed a hood and door system for the motion system frame that creates a fully enclosed chamber. The hood and doors are hinged for easy access. It uses 5mm acrylic panels that I had laser cut by a local service, the rest of the stuff can be printed or uses readily available bits listed in the thing. If you're interested it's at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4691439 cheers, Neil ..read more

How to protect wires for Revo HeaterCore?

We possess 8 Prusa MK3S+ printers equipped with Revo 6 HeaterCores. Unfortunately, HeaterCore failures occur consistently after approximately 2 weeks of operation. These failures manifest as: loss of temperature readings from the hotend, loss of power to the hotend, physically broken wires, and various Prusa thermal errors. My investigation leads me to believe that all these failures stem from issues with the HeaterCore wires. Despite attempting various methods of wire protection, none have... HeatBreak Stuck in Heatsink

My V6 HeatBreak is stuck in the Heatsink. It is nearly impossible to unscrew the HeatBreak out of the Heatsink because the HeatBreak and Heatsink is cylindrical in shape. There is no way to hold on to both of them to twist them apart. Is there a method or tip that would do the trick? Here I would like to suggest E3D to perhaps mill flat landings on both the HeatBreak and Heatsink so that there is a way to grip on to them to unscrew/twist them off each other ..read more

Not sure if this is posted on the correct forum subsection, but here goes: After working with 3D printers for almost a decade and teaching about them for almost five years, I am currently working on my biggest 3D printing project yet: a Master's thesis about 3D printing and user innovation. Could you spare five minutes of your time to answer a basic survey about 3D printing? It would be very much appreciated! https://forms.office.com/r/DmMGRNwc9D ..read more

Hi! Sorry to say, but I found it hard to pull this nozzle out of the heatblock. By warming it up by torch it was possible to remove it. Usually You can pull it out with no effort. Now I discovered some dark material (propably filament) around the neck of the nozzle. Propably it acts as an insulation, because printing was impossible due blockage. Perhaps the nozzle leaked from the joint. Left in the picture is a not used nozzle. Can the leak be sealed ..read more
