I own two Clog Dogs. In the right place they are wonderful but their heavy and bulky.
Most homes here have basements and often they are hard to access.
So I started to build my own of late with decent results.
At the moment I have a 80' in a Spartan cable holder with
Mytana 3/8" solid core cable and Renssi chains.
I crimp a steel pipping on the end for a better grip on
the drill.
I will be making a 100' and cutting the 80' into a 50' and a 30'.
I also have a 13' that comes in handy
For outside casing I used air hose (Pex is to stiff) left over from
my Clog dog replacements. Going to try oth ..read more

So I haven’t put much use on this yet, relatively new. but i was surfacing some pieces then all the sudden it wasn’t pulling the board as well and the blades weren't touching the board at all? I checked that the rollers and blades were spinning as they should. The repeat a cut was on the lowest setting. I removed the cutting head hood to inspect the cutting blades and looked fine. Im a bit baffled by this ..read more

I've been entertained and educated by this forum for way too many years than I care to mention. It's been not only a way to save money for the normal homeowner but taught me how to go about minimizing the discomfort changing out worn fixtures and a faster way to complete normal plumbing tasks.Iwill regret the loss of reading all the words of wisdom by Plumber Rick and many others> I've avoided and frowned upon using "The Plumbing Zone" due to the rude way many of their members chase off homeowners and those who care to learn about tasks related to plumbing and heating. This leaves just Terr ..read more

In the past, if you have to take a broken RIDGID power tool somewhere to repair, you have two choices. Either you go to a Home Depot, or you go to a local tool repair shop on Ridgid's authorized repair centers.
I have used the Home Depot route and I don't like it because (1) you have to sign a HD contract which is different from the Ridgid LSA policy...for example HD says wear and tear parts are not covered while Ridgid LSA says they are, (2) HD diagnosis are very basic and often they do not find anything wrong and just return the tool 2 months later and collect their $19.95 which I experienc ..read more

This past fall my daughter who just purchased a home had a energy audit ( house built 1910 ) . The program called Mass Save offers 80 % paid by utilities of the cost of weatherization , insulation , filling of cracks that sort of thing .
Before they can do the work my daughter had 2 things that needed to be done . First was to get a certificate by a license electrician that there was no knob and tube wiring and that that crawl space a 16 x 14 ' mud room ( side entrance ) had a vapor barrier on ground .
I had to cut a hole in floor to gain access to crawlspace . No barrier and moldy falling d ..read more

Hi!! There is a small bathroom in my house that I'd like to get rid of. Please advise me on how to permanently close off the toilet hole from the sewer line. There are a lot of YouTube videos that explain how to temporarily plug it while I replace the toilet. But nothing for how to block it off to remove the toilet plumbing altogether.
Any advice you guys can give would be very helpful!
Thank you ..read more
