So, I'm back!! I was going through the assessment process at Morriston Hospital in Swansea back in 2015, but due to family problems, it was decided at the MDT I wasn't emotionally strong enough, and referred to a Tier 3 programme. Needless to say, I was devastated. I did go to a few appointments, but honestly, looking back, I think the team were right as my head was too focused on the stuff going on at home. Fast forward to last year, started the Tier 3 programme again, stuck with it and am... Read more ..read more

I've been reading post op posts regarding protein and how much you should have post op. I had bypass nearly 13 years ago and wasn't told what and how much protein to eat everyday. Can anyone tell me what protein is recommended and suggestions as I may not be getting enough and maybe that's why I'm hungry and snacking everyday please ..read more

Hello all, nearly 13 weeks post bypass op & am struggling to come up with what to have for breakfast lunch & dinner! It's like I've forgot what I've eaten pre bypass lol! Really struggling with all meats & fish all of a sudden but am sticking at them! Eggs are a no no as every way I have them they get stuck, fruit whether it be fresh, frozen, cooked, blended any way makes me dump really bad! Nuts really give me a bad tummy ache! Any ideas for my 3 meals a day I'm starting to feel not normal... Read more ..read more

Hello _ I don't tend to use these forums much so sorry if this is in the wrong place! I had Roux-en-y gastric bypass march 2008 and lost just over 12 and half stone getting down to 14st - for me that was positively skinny and I was pretty happy with that - for the first time in my life I wasn't stressing about loosing weight it was like a huge pressure had been lifted. I kept the weight off relatively easily and went on to have a baby in 2010 and didn't gain any weight with that pregnancy... Read more ..read more

Hi, has anyone had any experience of stomach leaks?? I had a sleeve gastrectomy on 25th February 2012 and all appeareed to go well and I was promptly discharged. A week later, I was readmitted into hospital via A&E as I was vomiting blood and fleshy bits. I was given blood transfusions and admitted nil by mouth. After 4 days of being in hospital, I was advised I had a leak and would need a stent fitted to control and eventually stop the leak. However, the dissolveable stent required... Read more ..read more
