So I have PCOS which is a hormonal ovarian syndrome that makes you gain A LOT of weight and makes you have irregular periods. Mine was extremely bad, hadnt gotten a period in 4 years…until NOW. I was at 331 lb when I got the surgery and its now been over 3 months since then. I am now at about 245 lb and yesterday I got my period for the first time in what has felt like FOREVER. I have horrible cramps and feel like shit but it made me happy that I got a period again because it means losing weight it helping my PCOS so far. ? A milestone in the weight loss journey! submitted by /u/DominoesCasc ..read more

I’m 39, 5’6” and 250 lbs. I’ve struggled with my weight since I was 10 years old and I am so excited for my new life! The liquid diet has been hard but I’m feeling really good. Surgery is on 7/11! I got engaged this year and we plan to elope in the Spring. My surgeon said that in a year I will be able to start trying for a baby and I am sooo excited for all the changes coming over the next few years. I feel like I’ve waited my whole life for this!! Anybody with a similar story/situation want to be my surgery buddy? I’d love to have some support and someone to compare notes with along our heal ..read more

Sw over 400- what is your gw/cw?

Finally got approval and my surgery date- 8/26! Hoping to see some results from people who started this journey over 400lbs and what the surgeon's ultimate goal weight was for you. I feel like I see a lot of people in the 300s or even 200s but not 400s or higher so it's hard for me to gauge what my final outcome may be (I know it's different for everyone). I'm a woman and 5'7" for reference. Thanks in advance if you're willing to share! ? submitted by /u/Abject_Divide_9658 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Apprehensive about getting surgery in Mexico

Hey all. I've recently started exploring getting bariatric surgery. My insurance doesn't cover it, so I'd be paying out-of-pocket. I've looked into costs and KU med offers a gastric bypass for roughly $16,000. I reached out to OCC in Tijuana and it's roughly $5,000. I'm hesitant because KU med won't even send a packet of info to me until I'm 30 days nicotine free, however OCC approved me within 15 minutes after filling out an online form. They said they could get me in within the month. I've read about people having good experiences getting surgery in Mexico, but I just worry about the safety ..read more

I have Greek yogurt for breakfast… drink my water .. my protein shakes and usually some lentil soup for dinner .. and of course all my water . Idk I freak myself out. submitted by /u/Realistic-Stable-151 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm about to start my pre-op diet and I'm unsure if I can have monk fruit extract with decaf coffee. It's zero calories. My research is saying to go for it, but I just wanted to ask if anyone has any suggestions? submitted by /u/Carosello [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
