I'm frustrated, voltage was dropping out. Tested alternator- BAD, replaced along with battery( new yellow top) still having the same issue. the alternator is not charging the battery. since have replaced - battery cable and looked over all over wires. I've heard of the fusible link but for the non electrical life of me i cant find it. I am not an electrical guy by any means so a dummy version of where it is, what it looks like and how to check/ fix it is needed at this point. I need... where is the fusible link ..read more

I'm looking to replace the front shocks on my 14' Limited and looking on Rockauto, the KYBs are listed with different part numbers based on if its a AWD Laredo w/o load leveling or a AWD Limited w/o load leveling but yet the Gabriels don't list a difference and the Monroe's say they can be for Laredo/Limited. Is there an actual difference from the factory in the way they're valved or anything ..read more

Ididit Steering Column

I need a little clarification on a wiring question. I purchased an Ididit steering column for my CJ7. The plug that connects the turn signals seems pretty straightforward. However, the ignition wiring is't quite as clear. I believe the wiring harness is an original CJ7 harness. A PO replaced the tub with a YJ up to the cowl but the dashboard is all CJ. I don't think the harness is from a YJ. Anyway the wiring, a white plug and a black plug that went to a connection on the old steering column... Ididit Steering Column ..read more

Hi just installed a lunch box lockers in my xj Dana 30 and 4.56 gears. As I went to test drive and just slightly turned my wheels it bound up so bad the jeep jumped and and slowed down going straight there's no issues. But as soon as turn it binds up and the tighter the turn worse it gets. And in 4 wheel drive it won't hardly turn at all. I didn't put thrust washers in as wasn't in instructions but I do t what to do to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated ..read more

My daughter just bought her first vehicle which is a 2007 Jeep Commander 3.7L V6. Apparently the alternator went out previously and took the computer with it. Both of those were replaced and they said they did a “hot shot” alternator. Looks like they bypassed the internal stuff and now there’s just a single red power wire straight from the alternator to the battery. When I tested the alternator I was getting right at 14v and the battery read high 12’s when vehicle was off and low to mid 13’s... 2007 Commander Charging System ..read more
