Man, did I screw this up. I followed the service manual, removing all upper pillar trims without issue, even got the headliner disconnected and resting mid Jeep without issue. The problem, is that the service manual says it should then move out the tailgate opening. It doesn't. It was at that point I realized to properly remove it, I'd need to take out the lower quarter panel trims to give myself the clearance for it to slide out the back. This commander may be possessed, but it is running great, im retired navy, with too many projects and not enough time, but mostly enjoy wrenching and problem solving, have a few ATVs including trucks and other jeeps. Found broken wires in the door jam today fixed them but still no power to the driver side control for front windows, rear windows work as they were designed. Hey y'all, I have a 2008 Commander Limited 5.7 and about a year ago my 18 yr. old son was side swiped in the front driver's side and it partially disconnected the fender flares from the front bumper (or whatever it connects to). Instead of having it fixed for too much money I opted to use some good old fashioned black zip ties to keep it from moving much. That worked great... until it didn't.
