We are finally home and I couldn’t be happier. The house is clean and I am thrilled with all of the updates that we had done over the winter season. With the Florida house cleaned and organized for the summer, I am ready to jump right in and get started on Fairwood Place. As I sit here writing this last journal entry from Florida this season, I am overwhelmed with a profound sense of gratitude. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to live a snowbird lifestyle—to split my time between two beautiful homes, each offering its own unique charms and experiences. I can’t believe how quickly this season went. Like most Savvy Snowbirds, we are getting ready to head home. There is always so much to do and think about over and above our social life…which BTW, our calendar is slammed until we leave. We are trying for one last visit or dinner with all of our American friends! Today, I am emptying all of the kitchen cabinets and wiping them out with some home made cleaning solution. Hey hey everyone. Thanks Mom for asking me to write a post on your blog. My mom was asked to write a story about Fort Myers Beach after the hurricane for a magazine that she writes for regularly called Bay Watch News.   The other day, I found myself sitting on my own  and “by my own” I mean with Tank my little side kick. I wasn’t’ doing much of anything. Just enjoying the sound of the rain. Do you ever have one of those days? I did. Grab a tea. It’s a doozy I dropped steve off at a meeting here at the Bonita Bay Marina the other day. Before he got out of the car he said “the keys are right here,” Not really paying attention I nodded… or maybe just ignored him…not really sure. The world is in such a sad state of affairs. Wars, terrorism, violence, and prejudice. Then there is the worry of Mother Earth herself. The abuse we feed her.   Time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, newly married and embarking on my new life. July 27th 2023 Happy National Crème Brûlée Day AND Happy National Scotch Day. Two of my favourite things…well not exactly scotch….but any of my friends will tell you I love Canadian whisky. What’s the difference? The difference is the same as Champagne and sparkling wine. Champagne is only champagne if it comes from the region of Champagne.  Scotch is whiskey made in Scotland. Wednesday July 25th Happy Hump day and National Bagel day!!! Our family vacation breakfast is always a bagel, cream cheese, bacon and tomato! We live for this breakfast….we started it in Saratoga NY. Everyone got up on their own time. I had everything ready for the family to create their favourite combo.
