trip 10. 3/10/24
chesil , abbotsbury i swore id never return but was going to meet friends.
late up so got there about 13.30.
baits; squid/cuttle/ blacklug/horsemackerel/ & ragworm that wasnt the greatest, good condition but more or less maddies, would be just the job for a flattie bash though.
sea had a slight swell rolling in from the south , wind was sse by feel of it
weather was dry n bright, though overcast by morning.
high tide was for about 6pm , spring , full dark/newmoon...

Rather than ban bait collecting, maybe they should prosecute the Chinese families who are picking the shoreline clean. I’ve seen them at it so many times, but they are just let off all the time. It can all be found on the Angling Trust’s website ..read more

Over on the Watch forum there was a long discussion some time ago about how reliable - or not - the label Made in Switzerland was. It turns out that as long as the watch is assembled in Switzerland, and it doesn't even have to be the whole watch, the bits which go to make up the watch can be from anywhere - usually China. I'm not knocking Chinese watches btw. I own a watch with a Chinese movement and it works fine. The point is that if you pay a premium for a Made in Switzerland watch...

Just a couple of hours over low last night.
Screaming ebb tide and lots of weed.
Dead low, weed and tide disappeared.
1 small bass
1 dogfish
1 dab
3 whiting
Winds gone east now so kiss of death.

hi to all fishing enthusiasts !! ))) , - jigging is new to me I used different technique in past
anyone here would be kind to advise me on right set up I have Penn squadron jigging rod 80lb 300-600g extra heavy moderate fast about to choose a reel but not sure what to choose , I will probably use it on more less 30-60m depth targeting fish 10-40kg ....I appreciate any kind advice thank you ..read more

I know this has been asked before bot I cant find it. A friend of mine has two graphene century super matches with tight spigots. he's phoned century and they told him to use PTFE spray and work it with no success. He's also varnished the bottom of the spigot, he's even move them into his bedroom to keep them dry. what can he do ..read more

So I'm thinking about buying a couple of blanks to build my own beach rods.
I'm tempted by the harrison p2 blanks as I love harrison carp and specialist blanks.
The rods I currently own and plan to sell have glass tips.
I was just wondering if there were any downsides to carbon tips and braided mainline?
The other blanks I have my eye on are the m4gt but they are very expensive blanks and if the spigots are anything like my century I don't want the hassle ..read more
