Never Order Fishing Reels From Golden Buffalo1 Off eBay!
Never been this pissed-off before online! Said they checked the reel out. They kept saying i didn't know my "Okuma Fishing Gear" until i told them i was their STAFFER and made a video of everything as an unboxing of purchasing used gear off eBay & was about to release it for the whole World to see. Should've heard how fast they changed their tune afterwards! NEVER EVER BELIEVE OR PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM- Golden Buffalo1.
You're hearing the reel & seeing it as it came out of the box. I tried to clean & lube it afterwards only ..read more

Whilst flicking through some old fishing magazines I noticed that a popular brand of distance sticks supply three 10cm 'sticks' as well as the two longer items. I understand the use of the longer items but what are the three 10cm items for? By the time you have pushed them far enough into the ground to remain upright you would be dragging your rod tip along the ground/undergrowth. I am obviously missing something?
There was also an add for stage stands. Which, as I am sure you are all aware, require the user to screw the stands into the fishing peg boards. The immediate thought that came into ..read more

You Can Swap Out Your Okuma Knob For a Power Knob From Gomexus!
This is from years of fitting over 100 reels for Okuma & Gomexus. Years ago i figured out that most Gomexus fittings for Daiwa can easily be swapped over with Okuma. The stand-alone model so far is Daiwa's Legalis Spinners that still employs rivets? Really!
For spinners 5000 & down the Gomexus 38mm is all you need. Just match-up the colors. Gomexus includes a small ziplock filled with spare accessory fittings as well. Best to work in a cardboard flat if you're not used to this to recover any "flying" parts. Now go catch ..read more

I had several of the 20 & 30 Epixor Spinner models so decided to make a quick intro mounting these on SST Spinning Rods. These combos are quite popular for the fresh water anglers targeting panfish to trout, bass & salmon. But it surprised many to see us local anglers in Hawaii working the shorelines with these same rigs using the Carolina style of spin casting lead eggs with grubs for Jacks to Bonefish along the shorelines. They're fairly inexpensive & are dependable as i've now owned these for 5yrs with no issues ..read more

My clubs pike season starts on the 1st of October I had taken myself off for a few items browsing in a local tackle shop I overheard part of a conversation regarding dead bait Pike Rods. A gentleman close by was making enquires regarding the purchase of a 12ft Pike Rod . The assistant was fine with information regarding reels and end tackle but when it came to a rod guided him to expensive Carp Rods!!. Fortunately the assistant was called away for a few minutes I had a quick word and referred him to looking up Drennan, Fox, Wychwood etc. for proper dedicated Pike Rods ..read more

Spin Casting in Hawaii is Often Referred to as Whipping!
Aloha everyone! Most local anglers have their own style of day or night whipping. This is mine. I prefer using jigs now instead of grubs. Instead i combine the grubs to my jigs & to do this i use a smaller sized grub that "glows". I pretty much shared everything in this video on what i use at night. There are other products not shown but it's mostly technique.
