I spent a few days on Upper Red Lake in northern Minnesota at the end of December. I drove my Suburban up loaded with all of my fishing gear, my two youngest sons, my father, and my brother. We rented a 16'x8' wheelhouse from a place on the way up there and I towed the trailer out onto the ice late Sunday night. That night we really didn't catch much but we were exhausted from the 12+hr...

Hello, First In no way is my intention to knock any brand I think they all are pretty good. I have been using a 6 inch Nils with a cordless drill works good. I have a power auger that is a 8 inch auger like here under-the-open-sky.com/best-ice-augers. I have back issues when it hits the end of the hole it jars me sometimes and hurts me. What are the differences in say a Ion verse a k drill etc. I kind of want to sell the power one...

Need my WCF solid water fix till spring.
We've had some semi good ice. Seen some people out on the bay (usual spot) passing by last week.
Dropped off a job in lake villa off of Grand last Friday late afternoon ( I think? might have been Thur.) and passed by a WCF members home lake and spotted 3-4 ice-fisherman out on the ice. Any luck Basscaster ?
Props to Cyanatic, still fishing open water!
Sorry, haven't fished since July :wtf ..read more

set off on an adventure yesterday in the sub zero temps and explored some FP lakes covering a large area. it was me and the muck boots, pulling the sleds around knee deep snow, sometimes to the waist in a surprise drift. sitting on a frozen pond in the middle of a prairie, my steaming paws hoisted much welcomed largemouth from a couple holes.

I have always been on Chitown angler, but it seems the reports have gone away a bunch recently. I have been out 3 times this year. twice on channel and once on pistakee. Channel was good both times and pistakee was ok with a few crappie.
Anyone been out lately. Going to go Sunday and was thinking Channel lake again, but just seeing what everyone else has been doing.
If you like to sight fish, the bluegill bite on Channel has been great with a few crappie here and there also.
Thanks in...
