Even though the timeline for moving forward is different for everyone, I want to share where I'm at, in this way beyond miserable journey, (for lack of a better word), I wish no one had to take. On the 3rd anniversary of my husband's transition, a/k/a, his "angelversary" (a term Bernadine, an "old" GIC friend, shared with us, in what seems like a lifetime ago), I woke up teary eyed... Memories from the most horrific day in my life, flooded my mind..., with no way to stop the miserable trip... 3 Years, 12 Days Ago, My Husband, Bob, Transitioned ..read more

Hi, my name is Sandra and my husband, Will, of 47 years, died in January 2023 of Pancreatic Cancer. We received the diagnosis on December 19, 2022, and he passed January 30, 2023. Needless to say, it's been a painful time. We have one child (son) who's married and lives in Florida. He was some support but was/is having a difficult time with his own personal grief. In July (2023) my childhood sweetheart contacted me, and we started communicating via Facebook Messenger. I had not thought of... Dating Disaster...Can I forgive myself ..read more

Societal Pressures Today
Grief In Common

After reading posts on various Grief sites across the internet, I keep seeing people apologizing for not "moving ahead". Over the last 40 years there has been a huge push of psychology and therapies, all of which are built on the idea of "progress". Some therapeutic models are now admitting that there are some things that you carry to your death, and no amount of therapy will change. I find that comforting, because it feels real. It means I can relax in my belief that what I am feeling now... Societal Pressures Today ..read more
