Hello. My current build project is HMT Glenside, She was a naval tug that was based the the Dockyard in halifax in WW2. She is 1/32 scale, This gives her a length of 30 inches, I am building to this scale as the Foundation Franklin is the same scale. And its neither to big or too small. She has a fiberglass hull. I made a plug of the hull, then the mold from the plug, then the hull from the mold.She will be radio control also. I will keep you up to date with more info and pics as time goes along. Hello, I built this model about 30 years ago. I gave the model to a friend to finish it that wanted to get into the hobby. Recently i reaquired the ship, It was in my friends basement for 30 years untouched. So i am very happy to have it again. Its 63 inches long, double screw and RC. Ahoy, I've not updated my HMCS Bonaventure thread in a while because I've been somewhat distracted. First I had to help a friend get his Liberty Ship working as an RC Boat. Then I got distracted with building a static display model that will be going into the pond at the Halifax Public Gardens for the summer. Ahoy gents, (folks?) A quick hello - I took over completion of an HMCS Bonaventure project about 16 months ago or so. The hull, flight deck and island had been built by an older gent who has since passed on, and the modeler that I got it from was convinced to part with it to let me build it based on the price he had to pay for one 3D printed aircraft from Shapeways. It's 1/96 scale, so as an odd-ball scale, there are no aircraft kits out there to be had, so paying $90 US for one airplane would make an entire air det a $2500 bill or more...so the project came to me.
