I have a scat 9000 series cast crank I’m running clevite P series bearings for the mains and my rods are tight and I’m trying to get extra clearance bearings and clevite only makes them in H series narrowed bearings , I got a set but I keep reading stuff on the H series are for forged cranks then supposedly they are ok for cast then I read P series bearings had issues with scat cranks and spun bearings and now I have no idea what I’m doing anymore ,has anyone ran H series bearings on a scat... Hello, I've got a rochester quadrajet on my 455 olds. The numbers don't jive for marine application. THE SITE IM USING KEEPS telling me it is of the 442olds. Before we retired from MI to SC i wound up selling our fabulous '73 Marlin jet boat w/fresh 455 & Berkley drive, brand new white pleated naugahyde interior. I got a brand new crank and rods from scat and I got it balanced at the machine shop which said they would check all clearances before letting it go , well I went ahead and plasti guaged it as an was putting the bottom end together, everything looked good till I got to the number 5 and 6 rod journal which appears to have a taper in it on both sides , it tapers down towards the inside of the journal from 1.5 down to 2 , the machine shop is a good shop but they’ve been slammed with work and...
