I have an 89 454 365 mild build. Heads cam msd etc. I want to put new spark ugs in. So right before I bought the boat the guys son decided to put stock ac delcos in. When I bought the boat there had been a plug rolling around in the bilge. Was an ngk that I could see. The edelbrock heads say to use a rc12yc champion, I crossed to an ngk bkr5eix iridium. Well I went to put them in and finally could reach the ngk rolling around and it was a R5671A-8 Racing Plug. Let’s talk about the MSD 6M-2L box Last night a want to start my engine on the stand . i dont mounted my box on the braket so i put a old shirt on the bloc for not scratch the paint an drop the MSD box on it . Plug the black wire on the ground and the red on positive and 12V on the ignition .. the engine wont start … no fire . After a lot of test i took a wire directly on the corner of the box and go to the negative terminal on the batterie, engine start and run find . Hi Guys, Picked up a great Gen V 454, that was refreshed. It's a 365hp - 088 heads w a 228 / 236 114 cam - steel crank, dimple rods, forged flats w 8.5/1. Running a Merc 177sc w 2:1 ratio, and Teague superchiller, I'm assuming it ll be around 3.5psi after the chiller "loss of psi" Question: Ring gaps were set at .018, but at such a low boost, should i open them up to .024 top and .026 bottom? Possibly re-pully-ing back to 5/5.5psi at a later date. Rpm 4800-5200. Any experience opinions here are greatly appreciated. Anybody have a set of those blue Merc valve covers they'd sell?
