New conference paper: "How to BREAK MU-MIMO Precoding in IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi Networks" (Meneghello et al., 2025)
tl;dr
A new vulnerability was discovered in the Wi-Fi protocol, affecting all current Wi-Fi 5, 6, and 7 (ac/ax/be) hardware. It allows an attacker to slow down the entire network by tricking the access point into misconfiguring itself. The attack can be executed by any device connected to the network, and is realistically exploitable by off-the-shelf hardware without any special access to network devices beyond simply being connected to the network. A fix will only ..read more

While Nvidia seems fairly confident announcing their desktop GPUs, they mostly focused only on the price for the mobile parts while not diving too much into their specs at CES. However, it has been revealed that their RTX 5070 mobile will only be equipped with 8GB of VRAM and a 128-bit bus. For reference, their 1070 mobile in 2016 had 8GB of VRAM. When asked in a press Q&A about the decision to give only 8GB on mobile Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang seemingly acknowledges they know 8GBB now isn't very much.

AMD has announced a bunch of things at this year's CES.
New CPUs, new GPUs, new APUs and more!
The new CPUs:
The Z2 lineup for handheld devices consists of three new chips which mix three different generations of CPU cores as well as three different generations of GPU cores.
Expect these chips to show up in devices similar to the Steam Deck and ROG Alley later this year. Although, it is worth noting that only the Z2 Extreme seems like a decent upgrade over the existing Z1 chips.
They have also announced two new Ryzen 9000 CPUs. These ar ..read more

Thinking of getting the Intel B580 but you are not sporting an eight core Ryzen 7000/9000 processor or Intel equivalent? Might want to think twice.
Hardware Unboxed has tested the best Battlemage GPU with varying tier of CPUs, and found that in most cases it already starts losing performance with the R5 7600 as compared to the 9800X3D that everyone and their dog used for the initial review of the B580. Performance continues to rapidly fall off as the CPU gets weaker.
They tested at 1080p native in four modern titles where the highest average framerate were all below 100fps except ..read more

This case involves a scheme by Defendant to unlawfully supplant affiliate links from content creators with its own affiliate links via Honey, thereby redirecting commision or sales tracking on those affiliate links to the Defendant.
My thoughts
Is deserved and needed to happen. Honey basically orchestrated a massive click jacking campaign. LTT should join the class action.

VideoCardz.com reported a rumor from Quantum Bits that Intel plans to launch a PRO series for Battlemage sometime in 2025.

According to Quantum Bits, Intel will double the capacity of its Arc series graphics cards based on the Battlemage architecture. While the media does not explicitly refer to the Arc PRO series, they mention that a 24GB model is coming to the "productivity market," which aligns with the series' purpose.
My thoughts
Intel appears to be gearing up to compete on the GPU market on a wider scale. There isn't a price point yet, if the ..read more
