BGCHarlem works with over 1,200 youth across Harlem, providing academic support and enrichment and a host of other cultural arts, character & leadership programs. This fall, we're supporting kids, ages 5-12, with an array of programming to address learning loss as a result of the pandemic. All on-site activities will adhere to all NYC, NYS, and CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This summer, students learned a productive way to channel their creativity and frustrations while letting their voices be heard. Students were able to tap into their creativity and engage in activism by creating “think pieces” and “art installations” advocating for community needs and injustices. They were able to let their voices be heard as they evaluated issues they would like addressed in their community through "Zines." On July 4th, 2021, Representative Charlie Rangel officially became an honorary board member in recognition of his work having helped bring the Boys and Girls Club organization to Harlem over 40 years ago.
