I recently ordered my wedding suit from a very reputable local suit maker who does essentially made-to-measure suits. They call it "semi-custom" -- they measure you, discuss what type of fit you want, place the order, do alterations, etc.
The suit arrived today and the jacket looks great but the pants are pretty far off from the fit I was hoping for. I'll be going in for one last meeting with the suit maker for any last alterations but I am almost certain the sizing is beyond what...

I previously bought hide food from Papworth to treat my Papworth briefcase. I remember it looked, smelled and felt like pure Vaseline.
Now it finished and I wonder if I could use pure Vaseline instead of buying hide food. What do you think ..read more

When it comes to good quality shoes I am a fan of buying factory seconds, customer returns, ex-display pairs etc. I’ve bought some heavily discounted shoes that look perfect to the amateur eye.
There’s a British website, Abbot Shoes, which claims to sell used shoes in good condition. They currently have a pair of gently worn C&J, which would be out of my price range new, for an affordable price.
However, I’ve never worn used shoes and I’m hesitant. For example, will they have already begun...

Hi all,
I have a 10 year old pair of allen edmonds where the color is fading pretty significantly on the toe box. These are relegated to my "beater" / bad weather shoes at this point, but I do like them so wanted to see if there was any way to restore / fix the coloring on the toe box, or is this normal? I've tried using brown polish but doesn't seem to make a difference ..read more

Hello folks,
I think we're all getting a little tired of authentication posts. Is this Burberry Coat Authentic? Is this Lacoste jock strap authentic? Is this Polo Ralph Lauren terrycloth jumpsuit authentic?
I imagine if someone is posting because they want to know to get some research done before they buy something for themselves it's OK.
However, I'm wary if:
It's their first post.
They already own it (just bought this on ebay, or I found this in my uncle's closet)...

I have a 6P that I found a high end/high power head for. Maybe 300+ lumen? Ran fine, then I tried Nitecore RCR123A that charged up to 4.5 v I think, batts are 3.7 v. I was almost scared to put them in. Ran fine for months. Now the batts charge to 4.1 v and will not lite up the head. Primary will not light up the head. guess it's time to junk that head. sorry, EDC Forum is off line. thanks ..read more

Need to refill some of my shoe products and noticed Saphir has a decent looking shine box made of Beech and Rosewood colored. Box comes filled with 5 creams, 4 waxes, 4 brushes, a cloth, and a shoehorn. Still comes out north of $500. I like the organization but wonder if it might not be a bit on the small side. Does anyone have one or has seen/handled one? Any thoughts?
