Author: mercs Subject: Taranaki Air Rifle Club Posted: 25 Apr 2024 at 7:43pm We are a small club of enthusiasts who gather weekly to partake in the sport of air gunning at the Eltham Small Bore Rifle Club in Taranaki. I’m not German, but I’ve always pronounced it as 3 syllabils “vi-ra-gh” I’ve been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to phonetically spell out the “gh” in English, but I can’t think of any English word that has the same sound ?. Although Afrikaans has strong Dutch origins, it also has some German roots, so I can pronounce Weihrauch correctly, I just can’t spell it phonetically in English ?. In Afrikaans the prefix “ge” is used often denote past tens and it’s the same sound as “weihra-UCH ..read more
