Folks I’m going to move across from my weihrauch springer to a pcp. I just think I’ll get more accuracy at longer distances and a quieter gun so will probably use it more. Loathed to fork out lots. Maybe £700 at a guess. I have scopes I can use so really it’s rifle and dive tank.   What rifle would you suggest? I like the look of the HW 100 but are air arms or bsa better? I think the HW has a small ish tank.   i basically want a buy once, cry once multi shot. It won’t be used a lot but it won’t go wrong either.     ive thought about buying a silencer for the 77K and having ..read more

Parker hale Pheonix mk 2 barrel swap from carbine to full length

I recently purchased a Parker Hale MK2 airfield that came with both full length barrel and housing and  a carbine barrell fitted to the gun.    I want to swap the barrels over and wonder if anyone on here has done the same and can advise me whether it's a straight forward task.   Are there likely to be any springs/ball bearings etc flying off when I dismantle the carbine barrel and housing. Any info appreciated please.   ..read more

Non lead testing

I realise this won't be of interest to many, but as I've done some testing I thought I'll post it anyway.  I did a lot of reading and followed topics on lead free pellets when there was a chance the lead ban may have come in. I've got one permission that now requires lead free, and a possible new place to shoot that would need to be lead free as well.  Now I didn't read much positive about non lead pellets,  but I hadn't tried any till last month,  I'd been given samples in .177 but the pellets didn't look great, and I wasn't willing to mess with the accuracy of my .177 rif ..read more

Rarely do I buy a new gun, but today out I went a purchased the new fx drs, right straight in, get a cocktail ll stick, the mags are difficult and if you drop a pellet in upside-down you'll have to flick it out or they all fall out. One handed or if you have a injured hand your not doing it. The only other thing is the but pad is not good see photo. Good bits, only had it about 3 hours and put about 200 shots down the garden. There were a few flyers but saying that only about 25mm out, with me and the wind which was quite rough I can say it's very good, there's a few shots I was thinking I'd m ..read more

Hi all, I have bought a used Walther rotax RM8, I can’t get it to group, I get one or two pellets that are not too bad but then they are all over the place by around 3 to 4. Inches adrift, moderater and scope are all tight, tried another scope but it’s still no better, only used one brand of pellets so far , do you think it’s just doesn’t like the brand or something wrong with the rifle, cheers ..read more
