I think that I still have a junker Model 16 that should use the same cocking arm and barrel housing. I don't have a good inner barrel; you should be able to tap the blockage out. If you remove the front sight (screws in) and the front end cap you can tap the liner backwards to remove it.

Hi,
I am wondering if any one can help?.
I found an old mod 15 in an attic a few years ago and ive decided to refurbish it for the kids to shoot.
From reading a few things on this site i've worked out its from june 1938 as per the stamp on the stock.
I'm after a new barrel as the one on it has a blockage and a crack in the arm that attaches it.
Does any one know of some where that might supply them ?
Looking at the gun i would say its had a few poor repairs to it over the years replacement bolts etc.
but it still cocks and fires well so workings are still good.
many thanks

Long ago I captured this image of a RWS 54 with a custom stock. Is anyone familiar with it? It has all the desirable attributes.

Hey Packrat1947,
Thanks for the note. I took the gun apart . The stem completely separated from the piston . I tried but could not locate a piston here in Canada. I contacted Diana’s warranty department here in Canada. They did not respond to me.
Hector Medina came to my rescue again. I sent him some pictures and he went to bat for me with Diana. He lives in Maryland USA and I live in Nova Scotia Canada. Diana offered to send him a piston and piston seal for free and then he subsequently mailed it to me. What can I say about Hector? He has helped me immensely with all the problems I’ve h ..read more

Keep us posted when you tear it apart. I have a RWS 54 too.

I guess no one knows of a good tight wadcutter. I just got a can these and will see what they are like. One would think that RWS would know what would work in their bbls. I'm thinking wrong though.

I have a .22 RWS 54 that needs a tight wadcutter to shoot well. This is my starling gun - so that's why I'm staying with wadcutters.
RWS Hobbys are too small and shoot .400" to .500" groups at 10 yds.
H&N Field Target Trophys are a nice snug fit and shoot one hole - but are round noses. These measure .2183 - .2185".
Can anyone point me to a fat .22 wadcutter? RWS SuperPoints are too small too. RWS Meisterkugeln?

Yes, the ingenious ball-sear trigger was a post-war innovation. Its construction has fewer parts, and shows a much greater reliance on stamped and spot-welded components. Pre-war guns rely more on heavier forged and milled parts.
This photo of model 27 actions shows a pre-war striker-type 2-stage trigger on the left, and a mid-50's vintage ball-sear to the right.

Hi , I have a relatively new Diana 54 with a PG 4 Vortek tune kit installed.
Just recently the gun will not cock?
I can pull the cocking lever to the full range of motion forcing the action forward but the piston stem will not connect to the trigger? I then have to lower the handle as the piston will catch on bear trap . I then apply pressure on the handle, release the bear trap and bring the handle back down to the starting position under full spring pressure.
I am not the greatest Airgun smith so a bit concerned. I’ve tried increasing the trigger pull wei ..read more
