Received the new BSA 3x9x40 scope Saturday and today I hit the range for a couple hours. Shooting 115 pellets from 6 different makers. Crosman Premier, Red Fire and H&N Silver Point are the ones doing best at 30 yards. I hope to finish up with the Silver Point, the grain is 11.57, has more mass for a quick kill. A big difference between the first Benjamin and this one as to the way to hold it and the difference in the pellets it shoots well. I tried slugs in this one, no good. More time... Went to the range this morning, shot 15 to 20 pellets each at 10 and 20 yds. went through 5 different tin of pellets. Barrel on new rifle settling down. Groups with some pellets showing good groups at 20 yds. Tightest group at 20 yds is 3/4". After about 120 shots horizonal cross hair on right side broke loose!!! Called BSA and FedEx will be picking it up and it will be replaced for free. I have the same scope on the Gamo .22 Magnum with maybe a 1000 rounds and no problems. I'm starting to... The Benjamin Prowler .177 is defected and now I am trying to get a replacement under the 5 year warranty. I have shot well over 1000 pellets down range, targets at 10, 15 yds okay, targets at 20 and to 30 spread out to 6 and 8 inches. Many different pellets and a few different grips including AH. Sportsman's Warehouse has a 30 day money back, only 30 days. Any other problem contact the pellet rifle company. Beautiful day to be at the range this morning. Shot 150 pellets of different grains, from 10 yds to 30 yds. I didn't do to good, my hold was not consistent and if that part isn't right shots are all over the target. Need a couple more range days to get back in the groove. Shots were okay up to the thirty yard mark and I caused the group to become a pattern. I was working with the Benjamin Prowler, a $100 rifle in .177caliber single shot break barrel.
