Schengen visa

Hi Folks. Wondered if anybody has any experience of applying for a schengen visa recently. We were planning a big holiday to Rome and the Amalfi coast but pulled it as the requirements listed fully paid hotels with no cancellation policy, don't know if that is real. We are planning Greece instead now is the instructions seem to just ask for proven booking of hotels and flight purchases. I know that my wife easily qualifies for the Visa but we worry about things like the Greek Embassy not letting you have an appointment until 25 days before your holiday because they are overrun and we worry abo ..read more

In July we are flying to Thailand for the first time in a long time. I have bought tickets through DialaFlight. They have reserved seats on the return flight for which we are in Business Class, but they said they couldn't book seats on the outbound flight, for which we are in Economy. They said it was too early to reserve seats and we could do this ourselves later. How do we do this please? Thanks ..read more

My ex wife is now, 20 years later going for citizenship. she took the life in the UK test many years ago and has the certificate, this was before the B1 knowledge of English was required.. Her fella rang immigration up and was advised as she passed B4 the requirement, she didn't need a B1. This didn't seem right to me so I rang them and was told she DOES need the B1. Can anyone on here clarify? I know 2 advisors give different answers, one is going to be right, but which one ..read more

Selling on eBay from Thailand

I've put this here because it will fall under income. Does any expat sell from Thailand on eBay? I have a 20 year old eBay UK account and I am wondering, if I do emigrate to Thailand (Bangkok suburb if I can afford it, 1 bed flat), then assuming I have the correct VISA will this be practicable? IE my main markets (since we left the EU) have been the US, Australia and Canada. Of course UK to UK shipping is a majority of my sales but I expect shipping from Thailand will price me out of my 'home' market. So basically does any UK Citizen living in Thailand have good sales domestically and to the ..read more
