Hey !
After a nasty split up, I am finally on my way back to LOS in the New Year.
I used to be active on Phuket Info and it is great to see some familiar names on here. It is a shame to see all my old content on PI lost .

Part 1.1
Chiang Mai to Da Nang
Our 0800 Departure out of CNX was overshadowed by friends cancellation due to her developing chickenpox, most unfortunate as some bookings would be non-refundable.
Air Asia's A320 was otherwise full for the smooth 2 hour flight and we descended thru cloud on final approach into Da Nang to land on a wet runway at 10am. Morning rain just clearing ahead of the magnificent day to follow.

This is an "extra" trip to go get my MIL and bring her back to Canada
My wife wanted me to go because it's the 1st time her Mom is traveling on her new type of 5 year visa
Plus I really need to sit down with Nut to figure out what he is going to do and what his career path could be if he goes for his Masters

Weve been thinking of building a house in Chiang Rai, the boss has the land, now she wants a house to go on it 555
She has been saving like mad since she has been in Australia and I think now might be the time to get the ball rolling when we are next in Thailand.

Last week - an illegal venue in Chang Phueak, Le Neuf, was raided by local government officials who found 100's of drinkers, including at least one minor, in the unlicensed venue which had no fire safety controls installed. 5 or 6 charges were laid and the venue will never reopen. I came across this lengthy and extensively detailed project whilst researching solar energy systems.
An expat, obviously with extensive electrical knowledge has constructed a doomsday-preppers-type home. Whilst not my style of home there are as many good technical or Eco features as there is in poor design and fit out. Each to their own.
