This is my first TR training program–I’m on a low volume masters program. I’m getting close to the end of my program, in the BUILD phase and have started failing Threshold workouts.
I have a VO2Max workout Tuesday and a Threshold workout Thursday, and because these Threshold workouts have felt really hard (but the VO2Max ones have been much more doable) I’ve started pushing my Thursday ride to Friday to get some extra recovery. This has felt a little better and I’m completing the workouts, but I wonder if I’m messing with the algorithm too much and should just let TR calibrate against the days ..read more

An interesting message, perhaps. Yes, we should all strive to be a better person, but is this the right way to say it, or am I just overthinking (again). I just feel this could be triggering for some people. (I do like their ‘Dog Eat Cog’ series though)

Been racing road and cross for 40+ years and last week I noticed my post race heart max and average numbers higher compared to past years.
Previous years:
Max - 170
Average - 166
Last 2 Races:
Max - 177 - 184
Average - 171
At my age (65) I’m starting to wonder if racing cross at “Redline” is something that I should reconsider or am I fitter this year and keep on going?
I have no ill effects post race with exception of the usual post race fatigue as expected.

I’ve just been diagnosed with severe native coarctation of aorta at age 33 by chance following a CT scan due to a cycling accident. It has come as a complete shock as I had no symptoms and feel completely healthy.
I have been told I will have stent fitted in a few months time and have been but on BP medication in the meantime.
I’ve struggled to find consistent information online about the condition in adulthood as it’s normally detected in children.
Has anyone on the forum had any experiences of this condition, having a stent fitted and how it make effect future life and cycling?

Hi.
I am planning on converting my road bike to a TT bike. I was thinking of getting a new handlebar. I have the original sram red etap. To make this conversion, do I just need a blip box and clicks/blips, then brake levers for a TT bar? Is this a good idea?

Hi there
Is there any way to just use my Garmin (Edge etc.) to do an Indoor workout from Trainerroad. I figured out to connect my indoor trainer (a Tacx Modell) and do an outside workout indoors. But can I push an indoor workout to Garmin connect?

Hi all -
I’m new to Trainerroad and currently planning to do 12ish weeks of Base as prescribed (Base I → Base II → Base III). I just did Wright Peak -6 today (at roughly 96% FTP for the intervals) and it got me wondering if I’m better off getting into a Build/VO2 heavy phase and then going back to Base because TTE seems pretty solid. I don’t think my FTP is wildly off… maybe 5Ws maximum too low… but I am so bad at any work that is over FTP and it really shows in a Ramp Test.
I appreciate any advice in advance and fully aware I’m likely over thinking this as a new rider
