Alex Storako allowed a hit in the bottom of the second, and that’s all the offense that the Iowa State Cyclones could muster in the Oklahoma Sooners’ 3-0 win to open Big 12 play.
The Michigan transfer was fantastic yet again, picking up the complete-game, one-hit shutout to move to 11-0 on the season. Storako struck out five and threw 94 pitches. She only reached a full count with two of the 22 batters she faced in her Big 12 debut.
Storako lowered her earned run average to 0.81 on the season in her 51.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, the Cyclones kept the Sooners at bay relative to recent his ..read more

Sometimes a recruitment doesn’t have to drag on. In the case of four-star cornerback Jeremiah Newcombe that very well could be the case as the Oklahoma Sooners look like a heavy favorite. A flurry of predictions from 247Sports and On3 came through Friday evening favoring the Sooners.
The 5-foot-11 cornerback received an offer from Oklahoma in November. While things were relatively quiet on that front, a visit this week to Norman must have struck all the right notes as recruiting insiders from across the industry popped projections for Oklahoma to land the talented corner from the state of Ariz ..read more

Much of the focus for OU’s wide receiver recruiting efforts have focused on Bryant Wesco. Wesco is extremely talented and rightfully deserves the attention he’s getting. He recently became a five-star player via 247Sports. However, he isn’t the only wide receiver target for the Oklahoma Sooners in 2024. The Sooners will take at least two receivers, and Missouri City receiver Zion Kearney could potentially occupy that spot.
The 6-foot-3 Kearney is an athletic vertical threat that plays his high school ball at Hightower High School. As a junior, he was a Texas District 20-6A unanimous first-team ..read more

Spring practice is underway for the Oklahoma Sooners. One of the more highly anticipated viewings is that of true freshman quarterback Jackson Arnold.
The highly decorated five-star quarterback is getting his first taste of the collegiate game this week, and according to offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, Arnold’s already standing out.
“He’s come in and he’s picked everything up and he’s worked incredibly hard,” Lebby said about his five-star quarterback signing. “He’s spent a lot of time building on his own. He understands what it means to be the guy here and understands what it is going to ta ..read more

The Oklahoma Sooners lost another player to the Transfer Portal as Joe Bamisile becomes the third player to depart the Sooners since their Big 12 tournament exit.
Joining C.J. Noland and Bijan Cortes, Bamisile will be looking for his fourth team in as many years as he looks to continue his collegiate career.
A bit of a sparkplug at the end of the season, Bamisile’s athleticism and energy stood out when the Sooners needed a boost off the bench. His minutes were inconsistent through nonconference play but began to see more playing time as Porter Moser looked for answers to give his team more of ..read more

In the midst of spring practice and a huge recruiting weekend, the Oklahoma Sooners are picking up momentum on the recruiting trail. Though they haven’t received a commitment in the 2024 class, the Sooners have been projected to land several commitments and, on Thursday afternoon, landed in the top 10 of four-star offensive tackle Andrew Sprague.
Sprague hails from Kansas City, Mo., where the Oklahoma Sooners had big-time recruiting success in their most recent signing class. Five-star EDGE Adepoju Adebawore is the highest-rated prospect to come out of Kansas City in the modern recruiting era ..read more

Oklahoma has had some major recruiting in the month of March, but none seem as big as the one happening in Norman this weekend.
Officially dubbed “Future Freaks” weekend, Oklahoma plans to host exactly that. The Sooners will be welcoming more than 60 prospects over the next few recruiting classes in Norman.
Oklahoma’s been building momentum for recruiting since landing their top five composite class in 2023. While they have no commitments for 2024, the momentum is building.
Much like a volcano, it’s about to erupt. There’s a real chance the commitment party starts April 8 when Michael Hawkins ..read more

With a number of losses on the offensive side of the football to the NFL draft, there’s reason to wonder how good the Oklahoma Sooners offense will be in 2023.
The Sooners lost their leading rusher, top two receivers, and a pair of starting offensive tackles that are likely to be top 100 picks in the 2023 NFL draft. And still, they’re returning the player that matters most to offensive success; the quarterback.
Dillon Gabriel returns for his second season in Norman in what will be his last hurrah at the collegiate level. Gabriel brings back the most returning production at the position in the ..read more
