Author: Yggdrasilbury Subject: Best upgrade for a 1800x on Asrock X370 Posted: 20 Jun 2024 at 12:42pm I have a Asrock X370 Killer SLI / 1800x system, and the CPU is likely dead. What would be the best/most cost effective CPU to upgrade my system with? I'd like to have at least 16 threads. I've seen various posts about running a 5900x on the X370, but it looks like it comes with some drawbacks, so any other tips would be most welcome. https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=23406&title=5950x-on-asrock-x370-killer-sli-ac ..read more

Author: Yggdrasilbury Subject: X370 Killer SLI No video signal Posted: 20 Jun 2024 at 11:41am Hello hive mind, I need some help! All of a sudden, my trusty system isn't giving me any video signal. The motherboard lights up, the fans spin, and the LED glows, but no video signal (I'm using the motherboard's DVI out). I've reshuffled the RAM, reconnected everything, removed the graphics card, removed additional RAM and M2 drives, tested the display with another computer (no issues), and reset the BIOS (removed the battery) - but no go. The CPU is a Ryzen 7 1800x. Any ideas would be most welcom ..read more

Author: Yggdrasilbury Subject: 5950x on Asrock X370 Killer SLI/ac Posted: 20 Jun 2024 at 11:32am Hi, I have the Asrock X370 Killer SLI (not the ac version, AFAIK). Were you ever able to make your system work with four memory sticks (I'm thinking that maybe later BIOS versions fixed the problem)? Also, I have a water cooled system currently running an 1800x (using 4x16 GB RAM), do you think that would work well with the 5900x ..read more

Author: TFakini Subject: X570 - Incompatibility with 5700x3d and HX432C16FB Posted: 19 Jun 2024 at 7:19pm hey guys, I found the problem and it's just the HyperX HX432C16FB3/16, as I said in the previous post, I tested it with 8Gb sticks from Crucial 2400, STD models, today I borrowed STD 3200 models from Kingston and Crucial, they all worked perfectly, in single channel and dual channel. Anyone experiencing the same problem, unfortunately, will have to buy other memory sticks. Because there is some incompatibility with the motherboard, as I can't even read the SPD of the HyperX HX432C16FB3 ..read more

Author: jogianni Subject: How to permanently disable Intel adapter z270 Kill Posted: 19 Jun 2024 at 5:08pm I have an ASRock Z270 KILLER SLI/AC that I am trying to upgrade with a new wireless and bluetooth card, the Archer TXE75E. In order to do this I need to disable the current wificards (Wireless-AC 3160 and WiFi 6E AX210) and uninstall their drivers to install the new ones. per intel, the old drivers need to be removed: https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Trying-to-install-wireless-drivers-says-quot-The-software/m-p/1607855/emcs_t/S2h8ZW1haWx8dG9waWNfc3Vic2NyaXB0aW9ufExYS1RaMUQ3TTRGN0 ..read more

Author: Xaltar Subject: Power consumption QC5000M Posted: 19 Jun 2024 at 2:51am The A4 5000 is a very low power embedded CPU. It should be more than fine with a 60w power brick. You can see the peak power draw in this review from Techspot: https://www.techspot.com/review/671-amd-a4-5000-kabini/page2.html Under full load on both the CPU and GPU (Prime 95 and Furmark) the system pulled just 23w. I am guessing your custom MiniPC is using a Pico/equivalent power adapter to allow for external power bricks, either way, your 60w brick is overkill in the configuration you are using. A 75w brick woul ..read more

Author: hpcraith Subject: Power consumption QC5000M Posted: 19 Jun 2024 at 12:06am I have a custom MiniPC barebone with a QC5000M board. CPU ist AMD Athlon A4-5000 Quad-Core. No FAN. I bought this june 2016. Unfortunately I do not find the power-supply. I use a 12V 5A = 60W supply, which seems to work. The dealer told me that they have delivered it with a 75W power supply. The usage of this Hardware will be only with Screen (HDMI) Keyboard Mouse LAN I tried to find out the power consumption from the user manual. There is nothing mentioned at all. Where can I find information about the power ..read more

Author: Jose1001 Subject: Taichi x670e + 4090 FE Not Posting Posted: 18 Jun 2024 at 3:09am How scary mate, I receive this week another X670E Taichi for my 7950X3D, and the truth is that I also have my doubts. Let's go with you: I would try to disconnect EVERYTHING instead, and also remove the components, even the Processor, remove the battery from the battery for a few minutes, put it back in, download the BIOS 3.01 again, rename it to CREATIVE. ROM, removed all the components, just connect the power cable of the ATX 24-pin motherboard, insert the USB stick with the renamed BIOS, and the USB ..read more
