Hi guys. I purchased HP Elitedesk 800 G4, came home, ran Cinebench R20 and all cores are not boosting at all at 4.3 GHz, which they should I suppose. Ok maybe this is at it should, since this is after all mini PC. Will post screenshot a bit later so you can see the result. Am I missing something, some option in BIOS (which is disabled)? Maybe I need to run more demanding software like P95?   ..read more

SoC voltages 7800X3D

I was monitoring my system a bit and then something seemed odd. Ryzen master shows my VDDCR_SOC voltage is 1.25v (set to auto in BIOS), then there's SOC Telemetry Voltage which says 1.24v (This is the same as the CPU VDDCR_SOC voltage shown in HWiNFO). And then ALSO in HWiNFO theres a value under CPU VCORE SoC which shows 1.272-1.284v. I'm very confused about these values and if they are safe, could someone maybe clarify ..read more

40%-ish performance difference from motherboard swap?

I have just had a really trippy thing happen. I have an ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F Gaming WiFi motherboard, Ryzen 7700X CPU and RTX 4080 GPU (Gigabyte Gaming OC variant). I have been tired of ASUS bloatware for a while and decided to try and swap for an AsRock B650E Taichi Lite.   I did a complete re-install of Windows. When I went from Asus to Asrock. I tested with 3 games. And the performance difference is wild. These are average observed FPS. First on ASUS then on AsRock. R6 Siege - 300-350 average to 240-250 fps average - GPU reported about 96% usage on both boards F1 22 - 120-150 average ..read more

Hi I was wondering is it worth while to use 2 CPUs particularly with one as a stream pc with or without a capture card. I saw the Ultimate Twitch Streaming PC video but that uses UNRAID so I'm not sure as to the difference. Attaching the video for reference.     ..read more

Need help with memory tuning on ryzen

I have a 5800x with a kit of 3600mhz CJR ram on a b550m mortar mobo, been using it fine for past months but it now isn't stable with the rated memory speed anymore and it's causing my PC to shut down under load and only load it doesn't happen on idle or stress test, it's very hard to pin down this I came to thinking one of two possibilities:  1. Memory stick are no longer able to work on 3600 rated speed which I want to test and get it out of the way first 2. Bad CPU being degraded/defective in someway I already replaced the PSU but it wasn't that it still turns off during load. I did t ..read more

CPU matters at 4K?

Just read this article and wanted the forums take on the misleading analysis of 4k testing.  If any.   Nutshell;  4k needs lower settings to show how a given cpu can achieve frames befitting a users needs, that just testing on Ultra won't.   Thoughts?   https://www.techspot.com/article/2837-cpu-performance-4k-gaming/   ..read more

Whereas Intel Core Processors 14th Gen , 100% Everyday computing,100% on Gaming,80% on AI and 100% on enthusiasts gaming.       ..read more

CPU Bottleneck for 4K video editing?
Linus Tech Tips Forum » CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory

Hi all,   I edit 4K video and was recently looking at task manager while editing and was realizing that for certain aspects of the edit, my CPU usage was at 100% and my graphics card never exceeded 30% while rendering out a video. I don't know much about bottlenecks, but I'm curious if I have had a large bottleneck this whole time from my processor but just never bothered to check. I also noticed my CPU's graphics card was being utilized at one point but my 3060 wasn't. I assume this is due to Adobe assigning tasks to specific components, but do I have a setting turned off that doesn't al ..read more
