Have a HP i3-12100 desktop PC running Win11 Home. Purchased 7 months ago. Connected to monitor via a HDMI cable.
Yesterday, when I did a power on boot, the keyboard backlight went on/off as it normally does but then the monitor screen stayed black. Then the monitor popped a message saying that "No HDMI signal from the computer". Held the power on button in for 10 seconds and the PC powered off. Tried to boot again but same thing happened. Pulled the power plug for 10 seconds and plugged back in. Did a power on boot and same thing happened.
On the next power on boot, I tapped the F10 key and ..read more

Hello everyone,
This is a re-edit of my original post, to clarify what I'm asking for is reliability reports.
I'm getting ready to build my first ever ITX machine, and after deciding on this particular architecture (Am4, B450), I'm looking at a couple of boards... I figure they should be popular enough to have at least a couple of owners here. And I had another model brought to my attention by a mod whose opinion I can trust.
The machine will be a gaming computer, with no other primary functions. It will run a GTX 1660, and the CPU will be a Ryzen 5 2600X, with a Corsair liquid cooler, insi ..read more

Just thought that I'd toss this out there in case it might be helpful for anyone. The ASUS B650E-F Gaming Wi-Fi seems to be arguably the best mid-range AM5 board with PCIE5 support. It is always around $270 lately, but I saw it today for $189 at Walmart. I've had it in my Amazon cart for a month now and last minute checked the web for a better deal and there it was. I think that this may be a pricing error.
Update: Dang, nevermind. It was refurbished ..read more

Hi all,
I have a i9-12900K, on a PRIME Z790-V WIFI board that basically only runs Unraid as a NAS. I have two drives attached to it, Seagate Exo 18s, and an SSD, a Sabrent rocket. Unraid boots off of a simple Sandisk 64GB USB drive.
The server is rock solid when it's on, no issues, no stuttering, does all the work I ask of it. However on the infrequent basis that I have to reboot it, it will hang at the BIOS (or just before). I get a flash of the BIOS screen and then it goes black. If I hold down the delete key, then I get the "press f2/delete for the BIOS". If I push nothing, it doesn't pre ..read more

I've started seeing Lightning5, but have yet to see USB 4 on the AM5 boards when I browse at Micro Center. Is it likely to be on most boards by the end of the year ..read more

While reading reviews for the i5-14500 I came across many who said it ran hot with stock cooler, and one review which seemed to maybe shed some light as to why so wanted to ask it this is true; below is from the review in question stating motherboards are overvolting the CPU:
"This is a great product at a great price that runs cool with the included cooler. However, every motherboard manufacturer is now OVER VOLTING the CPUs causing them to run hotter and be less efficient so they can pass benchmarks with slightly higher scores at the cost of cooking your CPU. Look up the PL1 (long term power ..read more

Hello,
I wanted to turn of my computer which hasn't been turned on for last 2 years.
When I turn it on, there was no signal on the screen. I thought that it can be because of the graphic card.
However, I checked the graphic card on another computer and it works.
The battery on the motherboard died, I exchanged it and the newer should work.
I unplugged everything (Graphic Card, RAM, SDD, HDD) but still the computer cannot go through POST.
I flashed the newest BIOS (even after removal the processor) but nothing helped.
I see the BIOS codes 41 (with the backup BIOS) and 61 (with the newer ve ..read more

Hi guys,
I just "upgraded" my daughter's system from a Ryzen 3 2200G to a Ryzen 7 1800X. 1 gen older, but twice the cores and 4x the threads. Also added a Sapphire 5600XT while I was at it.
Also have a Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 installed on the CPU, with Cryorig CP7 thermal paste applied.
All this is in an Inwin A1 ITX case.
I noticed the fans were spinning louder than normal, so I downloaded HW Monitor and I see my temps are pretty high.
Mainboard ~40C
TMPIN5 ~65C
TMPIN6 ~117C
TMPIN7 ~54C
TMPIN3 ~40C
Obviously TMPIN6 is of concern, but I'm wondering if it's even accurate. I googled arou ..read more

Hello everyone,
I am putting together a gaming system inside a Lian-Li Q58 case.
The GPU will be a RTX 2060 Super. The cooler is the AXP120-X67.
And the CPU will be a 5700X3D.
I can use an Asus ROG Strix B450-i Gaming or an ASRock B550M-ITX/AC.
The Asus board is older, with PCIe 3.0, not 4, but has better audio and better VRMs.
The Asrock is bottom of the barrel, cheapest AM4 ITX board on the market, just two years newer than the Asus.
Which of these two boards would you choose, for that CPU ..read more
