When I started this blog page several years ago, my intention was to provide regular updates on my progress on the various railway modelling projects that I have been involved with. Over the last couple of years, it has been a bit of struggle to keep up with the constant updates, in which I do express a bit of disappointment with myself as this blog page has been also the prime place to archive what I have done in regards to the projects that I have worked on. Also, to inspire present and future railway modellers.
Long story short, life events been the main distraction from me to not pri ..read more

Certainly, over the last couple of years my regular updates came down to monthly and then once every three months down to only a few a year.
This has come down to being busy at work and home life being chaotic as well. I did get some little bits of railway modelling done on the side, but did not find the time put a blog together up until now.
I have all of sudden found myself a on large break which should allow me to power through in completing my HO Layout of Muttama. I guess will start from where I left off from last time.

A Very Belated New Year Model Rail Post
Over the last year updates have been a few months apart compared to the regular monthly updates. But 2022 saw the end of one Job and a start of a new job. Certainly, the new job has involved a new routine which took a little bit to get use too, but I'm glad to say, that I gradually getting back to the routine of my Railway Modelling efforts. It may be not as much time commit to it compared to previous years. But certainly what has been little nibbles here and there are now starting progress into much larger bites in progress.

What a busy month May has been for myself. This involved getting Narellan ready for the model rail exhibition at Rosehill, then the weekend of Exhibiting Narellan at Rosehill and a week later, doing a quick trip down to Albury to check out the Model Rail exhibition.

Getting Narellan Ready for the Rosehill Gardens Race Course Exhibition
As mentioned in my last blog, Narellan as a layout ran well except that I had failure with one of my Austrains 30 Class Tank engines which needed to be repaired before the Rosehil ..read more

The long story short, my railway modelling activity has been a bit low of late and I will go into that more to that reason in my next blog. But since my last blog in March, I have been rather active on the Exhibition front. This has been my main focus in this hobby of late. It is fair to say at some point, I do have to at some point enjoy running my layouts and trains that I have worked many hours on. Here is my overview on how those Model Rail events unfolded.

Model Rail Exhibitions in Sydney are back on after 2 years not being able to go ahead due to COVID.
Here is the details of the first event for the year. Furthermore, I will be exhibiting Narellan.
Forestville Model Railway Exhibition
Narellan has been accepted to be exhibited at this Model Rail event. From the details that I see for this event, there are going to be some good stores and a good amount of very decent model rail layouts that are going to be on show. I would like to thank the North Shore Railway Modellers for the invite for this event.

May has been a Month to get back on working on Muttama and cover some of the other minor remaining tasks for Narellan to get both layouts ready for the potential upcoming Model Rail Events in 2021 and 2022. Here is what I have been up to during the month of May.
Gatekeepers Cottage
Before the day of automatic Boom Gates where roads would cross over the Rail. A Gatekeeper was Employed to either shut the gate to prevent road and pedestrian traffic crossing the rail line whilst a Train was passing through and shut the gate across the rail line when no rail traffic was passing through. Just as 2021 was looking like that Model Rail Exhibitions were not going to go ahead at all. All of a sudden, the Kaleen Exhibition at Canberra and Easter Model Train Expo at Diamond Creek confirmed that they were a go. I ended up getting involved in the above mention two events which were only a week apart from one another. First one at Kaleem where I supported my Club Layout of Wingello and the other at Diamond Creek where my recently completed N Scale Layout of Jindalee was exhibited. As I have already touch on these Exhibitions already in my last two blogs, I do want to show some of the pr ..read more

First of all I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year with high hopes that 2022 will be a year of success.
2021 started well with a return of Model Rail Exhibitions that occurred in the ACT and Victoria which I was fortunate enough to attend. Certainly great to have them back after a year of model rail exhibitions being absent due to COVID. However, second part of the year 2021 not so great but a little bit of railway modelling done at least during that lockdown period.

Last Weekend saw the first Model Rail Exhibition within NSW/ACT Since the COVID Restrictions forced the cancellations for the 2020 Exhibition Schedule. For me it was the second event to support the showing of my Model Rail Club HO Scale Layout of Wingello. Further on in this Blog, I have another announcement I would like to share.
