I retired after 40+ years of teaching to garden and raise chickens, ducks and geese. My gardens are stock tanks and 4- 4 x 8 x 20 raised beds. I garden for joy, exercise, meaningful work, and the food benefit of my family, friends, and birds. I am going to try intensive gardening this year, which seems the same as the old "square foot" method. I try very hard to be organic.
