NYSERDA has opted not to make any final awards to the three provisional offshore wind projects chosen from the state’s third solicitation for bids which began in 2022.  Last October, the state agency had provisionally awarded three offshore wind projects: Attentive Energy One with a potential 1,404 MW capacity, Community Offshore Wind with a potential 1,314 MW capacity and Excelsior Wind with a 1,314 MW capacity.  NYSERDA also provisionally awarded $300 million of state grant funding to GE Vernova and LM Wind Power for nacelle and blade manufacturing in its Capital Region, which was ..read more

Clearway Energy Group closed on $174 million in construction financing and has begun construction on Dan’s Mountain, a 55 MW wind farm in Allegany County, Md. Eversource Energy says it has finalized the agreement to sell its 50% ownership stake in the 924 MW Sunrise Wind project to Ørsted. Eversource will remain contracted, under a separate agreement, to lead the project’s onshore construction following closing. EIA Program Launches for Ilmatar Finland Offshore Project Bothnia

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) program for Ilmatar’s largest offshore wind project, Bothnia, has launched, with the project proceeding to consultation phase.  The EIA work is carried out in cooperation with Ramboll Finland for the project, located in the Finnish Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and divided into two sub-areas, Bothnia and Bothnia West.  During development, the company says the areas were optimized and thus reduced, with Bothnia about half its original size, and Bothnia West reduced by approximately 40%. The Planning Inspectorate has accepted the Development Consent Order (DCO) application submitted by Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind for a 1.5 GW wind farm, located 33 miles off U.K.’s Lincolnshire coast.  Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind is being developed by TotalEnergies, Corio Generation and Gulf Energy Development. Dogger Bank Wind Farm’s second of three unmanned HVDC platforms has been installed by Saipem. Measuring 75 meters long, the platform utilizes a four-legged steel jacket foundation structure designed and fabricated by Saipem.
