I recently stumbled across the website of Bunker Arms (www.bunkerarms.com), a small custom shop that makes some really nice looking 1911s. They have a very sleek, minimalist style. Now I wonder: Do they shoot as good as they look? The prices are $9000+, so I'm not about to order one just out of curiosity ..read more

For a decent under $1,000 1911 . the SA Garrison has checked most of my boxes - The Bul Armory as well (although I don't like the Bul 1911 looks as much as I do the SA Garrison). Recently I saw the MAC 1911 JSOC 1911 .45 ACP and for the $750 street price I'm saying : Wow ! ... Does anybody have the new MAC JSOC 1911 - if so what are your thoughts on what appears to be a very nice 1911 and a great deal for the price (under $1,000) . MAC... Tisas B9R DS Carry problem number 2.

So I posted earlier about problems with a barrel having chattering for being poorly machined. So SDS sent me an RMA so good. Before I mailed it out I got my Holosun 507K for it today. So I put it on my slide. It was a tight fit but it went on. Then when I took the cover off the gun for the red dot I tried putting the screws in. And yes I have the right size screws. So the screw would only go in a few turns. I looked and the threaded hole for the screw on the right side was cut just enough... Tisas B9R DS Carry problem number 2 ..read more

I have some nice 1911's but a have read mostly good things about the Tisas 1911's. So I bought the 9mm Double Stack Carry. Picked it up a couple of days ago. Looked good from the outside. Even had my FFL look it over. Looked good. Well I got home and broke it down to clean it. That where the trouble began. The barrel had marks all over it. I sent pictures to the place I bought it from and they said it was chattering marks when the barrel was machined. These aren't just scratches. You can... Bought a Tisas B9R DS Carry. TLDW: faithful to CMC 2011 patent, 5K+ rounds various ammo, no feed/eject fails after one early user-induced failure, one magazine failure with aftermarket spring/follower/pad, a few hammer follows while tuning aftermarket ignition parts and grip, no trouble since tuning ignition parts, accurate enough, feels good man ..read more

Like me- I just got a response back today. I have a Gen3 G31 with two high cap mags (that I can’t get anymore in WA). I might go for the 357sig to have something different. And pay more for ammo- I might have another new 1911 to brag about sometime 2025 ..read more

While I don’t currently plan to carry a 1911 , the Commander length with the bob tail grip is still appealing - IF there are no issues with the Bob tail grip fitting the hand securely / comfortably as with the regular non - bob tail 1911 grip … Your thoughts and experiences ..read more

Talk me out of or into buying a Colt Delta Elite

Looking at buying a Colt 1911 finally. I have enough 45’s (Standard Manufacturing, Springfield and Bul). Now it’s Colt’s turn. I’d love to have a blued Elite, but those are hard to come by. Especially NIB. So it’s stainless Elite, no rail. I’ve considered 38 Super, maybe the Gold Cup ‘light’, but ammo has gone up considerably and not easy to find, unless I buy online. (which I don’t mind). The Gold Cup is $50.00 more and comes with a 70 series trigger (which I prefer) vs the 80 series... Talk me out of or into buying a Colt Delta Elite ..read more
